'When You're Alone'
John Williams Lyrics

When you're all alone
Far away from home
There's a gift the angel sent
When you're alone

Everyday must end
But the night's our friend
Angels always send a star
When you're alone

At night when I'm alone
I lie awake and wonder
Which of them belongs to me
Which one I wonder?

And any star I choose
Watches over me
So I know I'm not alone
When I'm here on my own

Isn't that a wonder?
When you're alone
You're not alone
Not really alone

The stars are all my friends
Till the night time ends
So I know I'm not alone
When I'm here on my own

Isn't that a wonder?
When you're alone
You're not alone
Not really alone

Absolutely well done. Love how it has stayed in our minds in hearts forever. Favorite note is on the " Not Really A................lone. John Williams is brilliant & Amber Scott is lovely. Thanks for the memories

Is it me, or does this sound like a lost song from An American Tail?

David Bailey

This is my favorite song from the movie and soundtrack I love this song

Gary Tang

Wonderful heartfelt song sung by Amber Scott, winning the Academy Award but Leslie Bricusse should be credited on screen as "Composer" he wrote the James Bond theme "You Only Live Twice", the Screenplay and all the music/lyrics to the original "Dr Doolittle", and co-wrote with Anthony Newley the music to "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", with John Williams another Academy Award winner "The Love Theme From Superman: Can You Read My Mind", and the closing theme to "In Like Flint". If Burt Bacharat was the sound of the 60s, Leslie was the movie sound of the 60s.

I started crying before I clicked the video. WOW

Topher Magellan

Go watch it when she sings it at the academy awards. TEARS!

Joshua Luna

Amber Scott has a beautiful singing voice

Jessica Hall

My baritone/bass son sang the solo at the beginning. 1st solo and I cried. It sounds good in bass/baritone btw

Say, is there not another version of the same song during the end credits, sung by an adult female singer? Or am I confusing this movie with 2000's The Grinch which had two versions of "Where Are You Christmas" sung by Taylor Momsen (child), and Faith Hill (adult)
