You're Sixteen
Johnny Burnette & The Rock 'n' Roll Trio Lyrics

You come on like a dream, peaches and cream
Lips like strawberry wine
You're sixteen, you're beautiful and you're mine

You're all ribbons and curls, ooh, what a girl
Eyes that sparkle and shine
You're sixteen, you're beautiful and you're mine

You're my baby, you're my pet
We fell in love on the night we met
You touched my hand, my heart went pop
Ooh, when we kissed I could not stop

You walked out of my dreams and into my arms
Now you're my angel divine
You're sixteen, you're beautiful and you're mine

You're my baby, you're my pet
We fell in love on the night we met
You touched my hand, my heart went pop
Ooh, when we kissed I could not stop

You walked out of my dreams, and into my car
Now you're my angel divine
You're sixteen, you're beautiful, and you're mine
You're sixteen, so beautiful, and you're mine
You're sixteen, you're beautiful, and you're mine
All mine, all mine, all mine
All mine, all mine, all mine

My first love gave this song on my 16th birthday. God knows you never forget your first love.

Early 1960 Hit - I remember when Johnny Burnette’s. “You’re. Sixteen” - Hit the Air Waves. There was a lot of Songs then about young love and lots of “Novelty Songs” too. The early sixties was the Fun Years - Lots of Good Memories and Lots of Good Clean Fun - We couldn’t do anything bad in those days - it just wasn’t allowed.

Johnny was 26 when he recorded this song. Can't imagine this happening today... :)

Although Beatles and other great music erupted on the scene, the purity of American music of the 40s, 50s and early 60s is golden.
