I was blessed to be born under a blue suede star which shone on me, so I could walk with musical legends that have sold and been on more number one hit records worldwide than any other musical acts in the history of popular music.
I walked them golden stairs, passed through those Graceland gates and partied ’till the early hours – it eas like being on a cloud floating in rock ‘n’ roll heaven. Dreams do come true do never stop believing anything is possible.
My journey wasn’t to the land of make-believe. I was awake, conscious and full of life – a path of highs and lows and there was no getting off this bus.
Let me take you by the hand, so you can too share my diaries of laughter and unbelievable times in the music and entertainment business. Welcome to my world of… Blue Suede Dreams.

Give Me The Right
Johnny Earle Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To hold you tonight
The tears that I've cried over you
Give me the right
You can't say no
When I need you so
I want you back in my arms
If you looked deep in your heart
Like I looked into mine
You'll find that nothing has changed
Our love was there all the time
Why make me plead
For something you need
I want to bring back the thrill
Give me the right
Give me the right
The lyrics of Johnny Earle's song "Give Me the Right" speak of a longing for someone who was once dear to the singer but has since been absent. The singer pleads for the right to hold this person, expressing tears that have been shed in their absence. The chorus repeats the same words, as if to emphasize the desperation or urgency of the matter. In the second verse, the singer tries to reason with the person they are addressing, saying that if they just looked deep in their own hearts, they would see that their love had never faded. The singer goes on to plead once more for a return of their lover, asking why they should have to plead for something that they both need. The song ends with a final plea for the right to hold the person close once again.
The lyrics of this song use simple language and repetition to express the desperation of the singer's situation. The repeated chorus of "Give me the right" is particularly effective in conveying a sense of urgency and longing. The use of such simple words also allows the emotion to come through more clearly, without the need for elaborate metaphors or descriptions. This simplicity is underscored by the use of a classic 50's rock and roll style, with upbeat guitar chords and a driving drumbeat.
