Another Day
Johnny Marr The Healers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'll say it
Straight
For all the world to know it
I'm strayin'
Chasing all these miles to nowhere
I'll say it
Fair enough, and you know it
But now that you know it
You've got to show it
I was there
Maybe you know
When no one was looking
And you felt it
In the air when it blows
And the sun was glowing
Feel it, it's always there
When there's nowhere to go
Now that you know it
You've got to show it
Pretend then
Pretend that you know me
All the way
Ah, but you heard me
Always, pretend that you know
Take me over 'til there's nothing left

And there's nowhere to go
We'll have to remember this on another day

Overall Meaning

In "Another Day," Johnny Marr pours his heart out, expressing his internal conflicts and existential crises. He begins by saying he is wandering aimlessly, traveling great distances to no place in particular. He then admits that he is lost but thinks it is necessary for people to be aware of his struggles. However, he is also asking for compassion and support from those who may know him but pretend to understand him. He reminisces about simpler times when nobody else was around, and he felt free to express himself. In the chorus, he reminds the listener that there is always an undercurrent of emotion always present and ready to be noticed when they have nowhere else to run.

How can Marr rip off Oasis, when Oasis based their sound on his?

...revenge ?

ShelsleySpecial

I know Noel Gallagher and Johnny Marr have collaberated on occasion but this is a bit of a rip off of Noels 'who feels love' from the Oasis album 'Standing on the Shoulder of Giants' made in 2000.
