On the 400 north bound all backed up
She can back it up
Drop it in the launch ramp
Tie it to the dock
Drive it wide open
She grew up down on a farm
Chevy truck, stick shift, mud tires
She can drive a ski boat
She can drive a wake boat
Go barefoot off the back and tie a tow rope
She can waterski
Ya she can drop ski
She can ride a wake surf, wakeboard, or swivel ski
She's a country girl
Grew up in the summer in a cottage world
A cottage girl and a country girl is a Cottage Country Girl
She can put a worm on a hook
Just fishin' in her Bass Pro hat looks good
She can dock a boat
Drive a sled, drive a quad
Ain't afraid to get stuck in a mud bog
She grew up down on a farm
Chevy truck, stick shift, mud tires
Lift kit, drop hitch on the back for towing her MasterCraft
She can drive a ski boat
She can drive a wake boat
Go barefoot off the back and tie a tow rope
She can waterski
Ya she can drop ski
She can ride a wake surf, wakeboard, or swivel ski
She's a country girl
Grew up in the summer in a cottage world
A cottage girl and a country girl is a Cottage Country Girl
And every fall I say goodbye
To my cottage country girl and summertime
She can drive a ski boat
She can drive a wake boat
Go barefoot off the back and tie a tow rope
She can waterski
Ya she can drop ski
She can ride a wake surf, wakeboard, or swivel ski
She's a country girl
Grew up in the summer in a cottage world
A cottage girl and a country girl is a Cottage Country Girl
She can drive a ski boat
She can drive a wake boat
Go barefoot off the back and tie a tow rope
She can waterski
Ya she can drop ski
She can ride a wake surf, wakeboard, or swivel ski
She's a country girl
Grew up in the summer in a cottage world
A cottage girl and a country girl is a Cottage Country Girl
A cottage girl and a country girl is a Cottage Country Girl
"Country Girl" by Johnny T. is a melancholic song that evokes a longing for a lost love. The singer asks the listener to remember him to the woman, who was once a true love of his. The song is full of vivid imagery that paints a picture of the woman and the harsh surroundings she lives in.
The singer's longing for the woman is reflected in his plea to the listener to check if her hair is still long and blonde, just the way he remembers it. The repeated plea to "remember me to one who lives there" shows that the singer wants to be remembered to the woman who was once a significant part of his life. Overall, the song captures the nostalgia and sadness of a lost love and conveys it through the imagery of harsh northern landscapes.

If you're travelin' in the north country fair
If you happen to journey to the fair of the north country
Where the winds hit heavy on the borderline
Where the winds blow heavily near the border
Remember me to one who lives there
Please pass my regards to someone who resides there
Oh, she once was a true love of mine
She was my one true love back in time
See for me if her hair's hanging down
Check if her hair is falling down loosely
It curls and falls all down her breast
It curls and cascades down to her chest
That's the way I remember her best
That is how I recall her most fondly
If you go when the snowflakes falls
If you travel during the snowfall season
When the rivers freeze and summer ends
When the rivers freeze and summer comes to an end
Please see for me if she's wearing a coat so warm
Kindly check if she's wearing a very warm coat
To keep her from the howlin' winds
So she could be protected from the fierce, howling winds
Please say "hello" to the one who lives there
Kindly greet the person who resides there
A true love of mine
Someone I truly loved
She was once a true love of mine
She used to be my one true love
