Garden of Senses
Jon & Vangelis Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Days of the garden
Days in the sun
Warm in my secret
Lost in your eyes
Love, sweet as water
Love, sweet as wine
Love, in the moonlight
Sing with your heart (Tell me there's a muse and you know what )
(you do when you sing when you talk when you )
(love with your heart-strings )
Love in the sunlight (Hold me, hold me)
Sing with your heart (Hold me, hold me)
With your heart
With your heart
With your heart

With your heart
With your heart

“Page of Life”: If I had a lifetime to try to put it into words I wouldn’t have nearly enough time. Another magical moment when Jon & Vangelis walked in and turned everything upside down (in a good way.) I keep telling this story - and I can’t really get away from it so I’ll tell it AGAIN here. When I bought Page of Life it was a Japanese import and was something crazy like $25.00 (back when CDs were only $9.99... the ones I was buying anyway...) about 10 years later I totally hit the skids (financially) and I had to sell my CD collection. I held off on my Jon Anderson solo discs and my Page of Life CD for as long as I could. When I went to the shop in Cambridge to present the cds the guy behind the counter was dismissive of how much they’d fetch - but he was willing to scan them and pay me what the computer said to pay for them. “Olias of Sunhillow” “Song of Seven” “Animation” and “Page of Life”... I can still remember the face on the man behind the counter: “....$200.00....” I had to part with those discs that day so I could pay my bills. While I know it is a complete and utter debasement to associate such sublime music with crass $$$, in a way I thought Jon had done me a solid favor.

Several years later I bought them all back. They are in my car and I listen to them with my children when we drive. For these reasons and many others that I can’t articulate, they are very, very special to me.

Thank you Jon.

Its about values, ain't it. You value this music and it was worth every penny you spent and then some.

Lots of great songs with Vangelis! 👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻 thanks a lot. Your music has accompanied me throughout my live (now 64) and I still listen to it almost everyday, either with Yes-songs or your solo-albums.
