Love's Tears
Jon Secada Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
As to what we can do, where we can go
Woman, don't you be worried
As to what we don't know
But what the future holds
So hold on, we can survive
With destiny on our side
Love's tears, won't let me cry
They get in the way of what I feel inside
There's so much more that I want to show
But deep in my heart
Love's tears are drowning me so
Lady, can you imagine the beauty within
When tenderness grows
Tell me is there always a reason
For all that we do if love's really true
So help us, turn every stone
Till all our fears are gone
Love's tears, won't let me cry
They get in the way of what I feel inside
There's so much more that I want to show
But deep in my heart
Love's tears are drowning me so
So hold on, we can survive
With destiny on our side
Love's tears, won't let me cry
They get in the way of what I feel inside
There's so much more that I want to show
But deep in my heart
Love's tears are drowning me so
In Jon Secada's song "Love's Tears", the lyrics speak to the insecurities and doubts that often accompany relationships. The song is addressed to a woman, but it can be interpreted as a message of reassurance to anyone who has ever felt uncertain about love. The lyrics encourage the listener to hold on and stay determined, despite not knowing what the future holds. The song asserts that destiny is on the side of those who can survive.
However, the main theme of the song is that of "love's tears". These are the emotions that often overwhelm us in a relationship. The tears are not necessarily due to sadness, but rather the overwhelming intensity of our feelings. Despite wanting to show our love, these tears often hold us back and prevent us from showing our emotions to the fullest extent. The song speaks to the struggle of wanting to express ourselves wholly, while also being held back by the fear and uncertainty that comes with loving someone.
Overall, "Love's Tears" is a song that speaks to the doubts and insecurities that come with being in a relationship. The lyrics encourage the listener to hold on and stay strong, despite not knowing what the future holds. The song also touches on the complexities of expressing love, and how emotions can often be overwhelming.

Lady, don't be discouraged
Don't lose hope, woman
As to what we can do, where we can go
Regarding the possibilities of our future
Woman, don't you be worried
Don't stress or fret, lady

About the uncertainty of our circumstances
But what the future holds
Regarding what is yet to come
So hold on, we can survive
Stay strong and don't give up
With destiny on our side
If fate is in our favor
Love's tears, won't let me cry
My emotions for you are too strong to cry
They get in the way of what I feel inside
My intense feelings hold back my tears
There's so much more that I want to show
I have so much love to give you
But deep in my heart
At the core of my feelings
Love's tears are drowning me so
My overwhelming emotions are consuming me
Lady, can you imagine the beauty within
Can you envision the love that we could have?
When tenderness grows
As our affection for each other increases
Tell me is there always a reason
Is there always a justification
For all that we do if love's really true
For our actions motivated purely by love
So help us, turn every stone
Let's do everything we can for love
Till all our fears are gone
Until we are free from worry
