Secada arrived with his parents in the United States in 1971 at the age of nine. While attending school, his family managed a coffee shop. As a teen, Secada discovered his gift for music. In the culturally diverse city of Miami, Secada was exposed to salsa and merengue. Secada also became interested in R&B and pop music performed by Barry Manilow, Marvin Gaye, Billy Joel, Elton John and Stevie Wonder.

The album went Platinum in the US. One of its singles had a top ten Pop hit If You Go and a Top 30 hit Mental Picture, which was used in the soundtrack for the film "The Specialist". His third album on EMI, Amor, was released in 1995 and earned Secada his second Grammy for "Best Latin Pop Performance".
Secada co-wrote the song Bella, the Spanish version of She's All I Ever Had for Ricky Martin's 1999 Multi-platinum self-titled album. He also co-wrote and co-produced the song Baila for Jennifer Lopez, which appeared on her 1999 multi-platinum album, On the 6. Someday
Jon Secada Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
How you got in my heart
And it's strong but still impossible
For me to realize
If some day we can be everything I've always wanted
Cause you're all that I see
In my dreams could I've been blind
To the true love you give
I know it's silly for me to think
You'll always be around
It's your smile that I'm so used to baby
Makes me sure of what I've found
And someday we can be
Everything I've always wanted
Cause you're all that I see
In my dreams could I've
Been blind to the true love you give
And someday we can be
Everything I've always wanted
Cause you're all that I see
In my dreams could I've
Been blind to the true love you give
I don't know when it happened baby
But you got in my heart
by Princess
The lyrics of this song, "Someday" by Jon Secada, speaks about an unexpected love that has entered the singer's life, and how he's not sure if he's ready for it. The singer expresses that he doesn't know when the love entered his heart, but it's strong and impossible for him to ignore. He's uncertain if they can be everything he's ever wanted, and wonders if he could have been blind to the true love she's always given him.
The singer reveals that he knows it's silly to think that his love will always be around, but her smile makes him confident about what he's found. He wants the love to last and admits that he has been blind to the love she's been giving him. However, he's willing to fight for the love and make it work.
In a nutshell, "Someday" is an expressive song about the beauty of unexpected love and the challenges that come with it. It's a song about taking risks and being willing to fight for something worth keeping.
