In the summer of 2008, they starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock and its sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. Kelsea Ballerini was announced as a special guest for a majority of shows. On May 21, DJ Marshmello released "Leave Before You Love Me", a single featuring the Jonas Brothers. Five More Minutes
Jonas Brothers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Baby, I'm not finished loving you
I don't wanna end it when we're only just beginning
Give me five more minutes, aw yeah
Right now, you just look too good to me
I cannot fathom letting you leave
You've got important places to be
Please, not yet
Give me five more minutes (yeah)
Baby, I'm not finished loving you
I don't wanna end it when we're only just beginning
Give me five more minutes, ooh yeah
(Wait)
Do you think you could just wait a while?
I think I could make it worth your while
I know that being late ain't your style
But, please say "Yes"
Please say "Yes"
Give me five more minutes (hey, yeah, baby)
Baby, I'm not finished loving you
I don't wanna end it when we're only just beginning
Give me five more minutes (just five more)
Aw yeah (come on)
Please say "Yes"
Please say "Yes"
Please say "Yes, yes, yes" (oh)
Please say "Yes"
Please say
Please say "Yes"
And give me five more minutes
Five more minutes holdin' you
Baby, I'm not finished and I'm only just beginning
Give me five more minutes
In Jonas Brothers' song Five More Minutes, the singer begs their lover to stay for just a little bit longer, not wanting to end the night when it feels like they've only just begun. The lyrics "Give me five more minutes, baby, I'm not finished loving you" express a sense of urgency and desire to seize the moment, to savor and extend the time they have together. The singer admits to their lover's other commitments, saying "You've got important places to be" but pleads with them to stay, promising to make it worth their while if they wait.
The repetition of the phrase "Please say 'Yes'" emphasizes the singer's desperation to prolong the moment and the relationship. The line "Right now, you just look too good to me" suggests a physical and emotional attraction that the singer doesn't want to let go of yet. The overall sentiment of the song is one of passion, of wanting more time to love and be loved.
