Turn on that radio
As loud as it can go
Wanna dance until my feet can't feel the ground
Say goodbye to all my fears
One good song, they disappear
And nothing in the world can bring me down
Hand clapping, hip shaking, heart breaking
There's no faking
What you feel
When you're right at home, yeah
Music's in my soul
I can hear it
Every day and every night
It's the one thing on my mind
Music's got control
And I'm never letting go, no, no
I just want to play my music
Woo (music)
Got my six string on my back
Don't need anything but that
Everything I want is here with me
So forget that fancy car
I don't need to go that far
What's driving me is following my dreams, yeah
Hand clapping, hip shaking, heart breaking
There's no faking
What you feel
When you're on a roll, yeah
Music's in my soul
I can hear it
Every day and every night
It's the one thing on my mind
Music's got control
And I'm never letting go, no, no
I just want to play my music
I just want to play my music
Can't imagine what it'd be like
Without the sounds of all my heroes
Singing all my favorite songs
So I can sing along
Music's in my soul
I can hear it
Every day and every night
It's the one thing on my mind
Music's got control
And I'm never letting go, no, no
I just want to play my music
Music's in my soul
I can hear it
Every day and every night
It's the one thing on my mind
Music's got control
And I'm never letting go, no, no
I just want to play my music
All night long
The Jonas Brothers' song "My Music" is an uplifting declaration of their love for music. The song begins with the singer turning up the volume on the radio and letting the music take over their body, making them want to dance until their feet can't feel the ground. The music is so powerful that it makes the singer forget all fears and worries. The chorus repeats the catchy phrase that music is in their soul and they can hear it every day and every night. The singer is never letting go of music because it has control over them.
The Jonas Brothers touch on the idea that material possessions are unimportant and encourage listeners to follow their dreams. The singer has everything they want with their six-string guitar and playing music is all that they need. They acknowledge that they do not need a fancy car and are happy to follow their passion. The chorus repeats that music is the only thing on their mind, and they never want to let go of it.
The final verse touches on the personal connection the singer has with their favorite music. They cannot imagine a world without the sounds of all their heroes singing their favorite songs. Singing along is a therapeutic experience for them. The song ends with the singer reflecting on their desire to play music all night long.
