Shoot to Kill
Jonathan Randol Lyrics

I've been waiting a long time
For you to make your mind
Up and we both get this over with
I'm pretending that I'm fine
Been dancing on landmines
You better shoot
To kill
You're the only one close enough
Make sure you hit me just
Shoot to kill
I'm trusting your aim and I know that you will
I think that it's time you forgot about
All of your crazy doubts
Cuz I'm on your side
I know that you've been hurt
Time and again
And I can't deny that I've been on that ride
So You better shoot
To kill
You're the only one close enough
Make sure you hit me just
Shoot to kill
I'm trusting your aim and I know that you will
I'm seeing behind
Those things you find
To put up in front of your heart like a shield
It makes me smile
When you use your mind
To try and deny what your heart wants to feel
You better shoot
To kill
You're the only one close enough
Make sure you hit me just
Shoot to kill
I'm trusting your aim and I know that you will
Just shoot
To kill
You're the only one strong enough
Make sure you hit me just
Shoot to kill
I'm trusting your aim and I know that you will
In Jonathan Randol's song "Shoot to Kill," the singer addresses someone they care about who is struggling to make a decision. The singer is waiting patiently for the other person to come to a conclusion so they can both move on. However, the singer is not as okay as they seem. They use the metaphor of "dancing on landmines" to describe their emotional state. At the same time, they taste the salty tear of the other person, indicating that they are also affected by the situation. Despite this, the singer trusts the other person enough to tell them to shoot to kill. They urge the other person to make sure they hit them with their decision, as they know it's the only way for both of them to move on.
Throughout the song, the singer expresses how important it is for the other person to trust their own feelings and not let their doubts get in the way. At the same time, the singer encourages the other person to stop putting up shields in front of their heart and let their true feelings show. It's clear that this decision is challenging for both of them, but the singer trusts that the other person has what it takes to come to the right conclusion.
Overall, "Shoot to Kill" is a poignant song about the complexities of decision making and the emotions that come with it, especially when it involves someone you care about.

"Laoghaire will be a lassie even when she's 50" makes a lot more sense now. She refuses to accept the reality that Jaime has never and will never love her and keeps on living her schoolgirl fantasy. She's a child with two children
@Isabella2335.
True! She was obsessed with Jamie
@HikariTsunami
It goes with anybody they think lust even coming down to someone doing the most simple nicest thing means it's true love, some can't get over the fantasies in there own head stalking/controlling behaviour they think thats what love is and the reality it's not

She is mentally ill and has been obsessed w Jamie since she was a child. She wanted tonown him but refused his physical attention. In the book Jamiecquestioned if that was due to her prior husbands harming her or being rough but noted they were good men as far as he knew. Could it be it was part of her mental illness??

@@tudordumitrache4644 she is NOT immature she is a well aware manipulator who has been rather successful. Like all narcissistic people life is all about her, her Dad did in love give her a very good life and education but her pathology existed before all the goodies. She actually expected her dad to ignore this other children which thankfully he did not. Meghan is a user very much like my late older sister, as long as she gets what she wants life is ok. Expect anything of her and it gets ugly.

@@tudordumitrache4644 When did "everybody talk about man-child but nobody about imature women"?? You just assume it by yourself.

I’m so glad that Laoghiare’s daughter saw the truth and had a change of heart for Claire. Laoghiare was just possessive and obsessed.

Yes. Always wanting that which she could never have.
@Isabella2335.
And delusional too
