Who?
Jonathan and Darlene Edwards Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Who takes away the pain inside
Alright
Who put the sun up in the sky
Who takes away the pain inside
Who put the rain up in the moon
Can even make the flowers bloom
Who gives the babies their names
Paul, John and Peter and James
Who's the One in the midst of the flame
The Great I Am is His name
Who is like the Lord (Nobody, nobody)
Tell me, who is like the Lord, sing (Nobody, nobody)
Who supplies all that you need
More than you can ever receive
Who's the One that will carry you through
When no one else was there to hold you
Who is there in the middle of the night
To keep you safe and turn on the light
Who's the One in the midst of the prayer
The Great I Am is His name
Who is like the Lord (Nobody, nobody)
Tell me, tell me, who is like the Lord, sing (Nobody, nobody)
Who is like the Lord (Nobody, nobody)
I wanna know, I wanna know
Who is like the Lord, sing (Nobody, nobody)
Who gives the babies their names
Paul, John and Peter and James
Who's the One in the midst of the flame
The Great I Am is His name
Like the Lord (Nobody, nobody)
Tell me, tell me, who is like the Lord, sing (Nobody, nobody)
Who is like the Lord (Nobody, nobody)
Oh, oh, yeah, who is like the Lord, sing (Nobody, nobody)
I wanna know
(Can nobody do me like You, Jesus)
(Can nobody do me like You)
(Can nobody do me like You) Nobody can do me like You
(Can nobody do me like You, Jesus)
(Can nobody do me like You) Nobody
(Can nobody do me like You)
(Who is like the Lord) (Nobody, nobody) Tell me, no
(Who is like the Lord) (Nobody, nobody) Nobody, got to tell somebody
(Who is like the Lord) (Nobody, nobody) Yes nobody, but Jesus
(Who is like the Lord) (Nobody, nobody) Yeah, oh, who is like the Lord

Both of them had perfect pitch, so performing off-key so consistently takes great skill.

As many times as I heard Dr. Demento play Jonathan & Darlene Edwards' songs I never knew she was Jo Stafford. I don't believe he ever mentioned that. Love their spoofs. Btw, I have an album by Florence Foster Jenkins. I love her quote; "People will say that I couldn't sing, but they won't say I didn't."

So they're playing themselves PLAYING Johnathan and Darlene Edwards, kinda!
