Real life
Real life is purpose
Real life is pain
Not recorded camera footage
Real life
Real life is purpose
Real life is pain
Not recorded camera footage
Black hoodie boy, walking down the street
Very discreet (Black hoodie boy)
Black hoodie boy, Loosing his momma
(Black hood boy, black hoodie boy)
Black hoodie boy, living life sober
So what, so what, seeing life in two shades
Dilated illusions to fit reality
TV screens and inhumane activities from wrong infested rights
Flickering lights and broken glass
Life is moving way too fast
I wish I was back in my young days
When I lived my bright ways
Now I got sins the devil using against me
I got wins I cant celebrate happily
I got fake friends I'm trying to get rid of
But at the end of the day I'm still the same nigga
Walking down the street with that black hoodie on
Physically here, but mentally gone
Soring in my own mind-space
Cant look in the mirror 'cause I don't see the same face
I see a broken nigga trying to make people smile
I see a broken nigga that's been gone for a while
But still in pain
I see God in it
Real life
Real life is purpose
Real life is pain
Not recorded camera footage
Real life
Real life is purpose
Real life is pain
Not recorded camera footage
Too many lies, too many spies, too many eyes
I gotta say goodbye when I realize
That people all the same
(They really all the same)
We talk about change, but then we take another life
We talk about the end times, that's where we draw the line
No change, no hate
Just real, for real
The real dissolve, but the ill mind evolve
For the good cause nobody's involved
But when we wanna be for the cause, we ask for the cost
We back out, we in a black out, we never seen
We justify our problems by becoming then
We justify our sins by believing they're right
You cant elevate if you gon hate, but peace and joy evaporate
This is the bait, our God can save
Just run to Him the world will never change
Real life is purpose, what purpose
Go search it, embark it, then face it
Real life is pain, but there's gain
Will you stick around to the end of the game
This ain't recorded camera footage
This ain't recorded camera footage

Real life, real life
Real life, real life

Overall Meaning

The lyrics describe the story of the first Christmas, where the singer is one of the three wise men who are travelling to see the newborn King. The first verse talks about their journey and how they have brought their finest gifts to lay before the King. In the second verse, the singer reveals that he is just a poor boy and has no gift to give. Instead, he asks if he can play his drum for the King. Mary nods in approval and the singer plays his drum for the baby Jesus. The final verse repeats the first verse, but now includes the singer and his drum as part of the group of people coming to visit the King.

The song has a message of the importance of using what you have to offer, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem. The young boy may not have had the most valuable or ornate gift, but he used his talent to play music for the newborn King. This highlights the idea that everyone has a talent or skill, and it is important to recognize and use it.
