A Foggy Day
Joni James Lyrics

Out of town were the people I knew
I had that feeling of self-pity
What to do, what to do, what to do
The outlook was decidedly blue
But as I walked through the foggy streets alone
It turned out to be the luckiest day I've known
A foggy day, in London town
Had me low, had me down
I viewed the morning, with much alarm
British Museum, had lost its charm
How long I wondered,
Could this thing last
But the age of miracles, hadn't past
For suddenly, I saw you there
And through foggy London town,
The sun was shining everywhere
For suddenly, I saw you there
And through foggy London town,
The sun was shining everywhere
Everywhere
Everywhere
Everywhere
Joni James's song, A Foggy Day, describes the feeling of being lost and alone in a strange city, feeling homesick and wondering what to do. The singer of the song is feeling sorry for herself, with nothing to look forward to and nowhere to go. She is surrounded by a thick fog which only adds to her feeling of isolation. However, as she walks alone through the foggy streets, she finds love, and her whole world changes. The fog is no longer a sign of despair and loneliness. Instead, it's a reminder of the day when everything changed for the better.
The song is not just about the power of fog to transform one's mood, but also about the transformative power of love. It tells the story of an encounter which changes the singer's outlook on life, bringing sunshine and hope where there was once despair. Through this encounter, the singer learns that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for something better.

This is lovely. I wish more vocalists would sing the WHOLE song because the first words give the song more meaning.
