Danny Boy
Joni James Lyrics
Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side.
The summer's gone, and all the roses falling,
It's you, it's you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow,
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow,
It's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow,
Oh, Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so!
If I am dead, as dead I well may be,
You'll come and find the place where I am lying,
And kneel and say an Ave there for me.
And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me,
And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be,
For you will bend and tell me that you love me,
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me!

When my wife and I were married only for a short time, her parents had a camp on a lake and every Saturday night we were there. Everyone along the beach would come down for a cook out, then we danced on there large patio. My wife and I just loved this song an all others that Joni sang, but Oh Danny boy was our favorite. So not to much after that, we named our first born son, Danny. Great memories.

I had a 12 hour pass from GL Navy raining station in 1954 ( I think ) Saw Joni at a downtown theater in Chicago. She sang In a Garden of Roses. Let us come backstage and signed our sailor hats!

Perfetta la sua voce per questa magnifica melodia:
candore e intensità.
