I'm Through With Love
Joni James Lyrics

I'll never fall again
Said "Adieu" to love
Don't ever call again
For I must have you
Or no one
And so I'm through with love
I'll keep my feelings there
I have stocked my heart
With icy frigid air
And I need to care for no one
And so I'm through with love
Why did you leave me
To think that you could cared?
You didn't need me
For you have your share
Of slaves around you
To hound you and swear
With deep emotion
Devotion to you
Goodbye to spring
And all it meant to me
It can never bring
The things that used to be
For I must have you or no one
And so I'm through with love
Why did you leave me
To think that you could cared?
You didn't need me
For you have your share
Of slaves around you
To hound you and swear
With deep emotion
Devotion to you
Goodbye to spring
And all it meant to me
It can never bring
The things that used to be
For I'm through with love, I'm through with love
But every time I fall in love
Something always happen to me
That's why I'm through with love
The lyrics to Joni James's song I'm Through With Love speak to the pain and disappointment that comes with having your heart broken. The singer has decided that she will never fall in love again, after saying goodbye to a love that she thought was real. She has locked away her feelings, and has no desire to care for anyone else. The singer seems to be placing blame on the person who left her, as they made her believe that they cared for her when they, in fact, didn't. She acknowledges that there are others who will still love this person, but she has chosen to close herself off from that possibility.
The chorus, "For I must have you or no one, And so I'm through with love," reinforces the idea that the singer has given up on love altogether, as she is unwilling to settle for anyone else. She wishes goodbye to spring and all that it represents to her, as it is a reminder of the love that she has lost. The final lines, "But every time I fall in love, Something always happen to me, That's why I'm through with love," are a nod to the universal nature of heartbreak. The singer recognizes that love comes with pain, and she wants no part of it anymore.

Love it! I love almost anything by JJ. Has the definite sound of disillusionment. But, she makes it sound "not that bad"🤔 🕊🕊❤❤☘☘☘

My late dad was her die hard fan and collected her records which ultimately became part of our growing up. My brother has his own channel which centered on her songs too.

What a beautiful voice. I love songs like this. A mellow jazz. So many songs today don't include instruments like this. The computer took that away. I do find great music today. The college bands still present great music. If you haven't heard of Berklee college of music...it's on here. Those kids are great. I love the sound of the big band music. Like you...my parents listened to great music. I remember watching the Lawrence Welk show. Still watch it when I can. I'm sure there are videos on here from the show. Have a great week and weekend Tito. And everyone else as well. Genie
