I Woke up Crying
Joni James Lyrics
I woke up crying
Crying over you
I saw you in my dreams
Kissing someone new
I woke up crying
What am I to do
My eyes are never dry
Since I lost you
Eyelids (?) are trembling
As I realize
How much I love you
Through tear-filled eyes
[VERSE 1]
I woke up crying
Darling can't you see
I'll go on crying
'Til you come back to me
[Repeat CHORUS]
[Repeat VERSE 1]

Regarding the male voices, this arrangement by David Terry was a followup to the outstanding arrangement he did for Joni's million-seller "You Are My Love." I think the record did lack heft and that was because the other song recorded at the session was "The Maverick Queen," the Victor Young song from the Barbara Stanwyck film and they needed voicings and orchestration to suit that country song, too. "Crying" did reach top 10 in cities including St. Louis.

Words and Music by Paul Insetta. Good song. Billboard Review was right. Also, lacking a good arrangement.
