There's a key on this chain
That'll spin your lock and let me in
And I'm thinking 'bout us again
I'm thinking 'bout caving in, when
I should stop right now and go back home
Turn on that TV, stare at the wall and just sleep aloneNever turn down your block
I know I need to not
Get too close 'cause you know that I've crossed that line
You say you miss me, your kiss hits me one more time
Don't wanna give us one more shot
I know I need to not
I need to not, I need to not
These lights flashing
Red light means I'm two turns from your street
The one goin off in my head ain't slowing down anything
'Cause I'm thinking about seeing you
I'm thinking about what I'll do when
I should stop right now and go back home
Turn on that TV, stare at the wall and just sleep alone
Never turn down your block
I know I need to not
Get too close 'cause you know that I've crossed that line
You say you miss me, your kiss hits me one more time
Don't wanna give us one more shot
I know I need to not
Oh, and I need to not, I need to not
Oh, I need to not
I need to not touch you
I need to not look in your eyes
Need to come to my senses
And get the hell out of your driveway
Well, I should stop right now and go back home
Turn on that TV, stare at the wall and just sleep alone
And never turn down your block
I know I need to not
Get too close 'cause you know that I've crossed that line
You say you miss me, your kiss hits me one more time
Don't wanna give us one more shot
I know I need to not
I need to not, I need to not
I need to not, I need to not
The song "Need To Not" by Jordan Davis is about a man who is struggling with his feelings for someone he has already crossed the line with, but knows he should not be getting involved again. The song starts with the singer explaining that he knows his way to the girl's house like the back of his hand, and he has a key that can let him in. He is thinking about her again and is considering giving in, but he knows he should not. He acknowledges that he should stop and go back home, but he cannot help but think about seeing her and what he would do.
As the song progresses, the singer talks about how he needs to not touch her, look into her eyes, or give their relationship another shot. He talks about how her kiss hits him one more time and how he knows he should not be getting too close. He acknowledges that he has already crossed the line with her and that he needs to come to his senses and get out of her driveway.
Overall, "Need to Not" is a song that explores the internal struggles of a man who knows he should not be getting back together with a woman he has already crossed the line with. The song is full of tension and raw emotions, and it is easy to relate to for anyone who has been in a similar situation.
