Hey Ya’ll! I’m a Worship Pastor at Christ’s Church of Oronogo. I’m married to my best friend, Megan. Some things I really really like are the St. Louis Cardinals, Coffee Shops and all that they include, music, songwriting and Food. Seriously…all of it! I grew up playing sports and resenting the idea that I would ever be involved in ministry, but the Lord opened my eyes to all that ministry can be…Now, here I am!

I enjoy Jesus Christ so much! That’s the number one thing I want everyone I meet to know. The Lord saved me July 9th, 2002, at a CIY Move Summer Conference. It was there that I knew I would be playing drums all for His glory, and it was there that I was called out of sin, into Life. I started playing drums when I was 11 years old, and started worshiping God through drumming when I was 16. Since then, I have had many opportunities to play with awesome brothers and sisters in worship bands all over the country. Though I love playing, my main passion is seeing people set free from the Enemy, and falling madly in love with Jesus and people all over the earth. I am short. I am 5′4″ and 127 lbs. I really enjoy eating fruits and vegetables, playing every sport, and eating Kashi products. However, I really hate Satan and Hydrogenated OIl. The end.

I was born and raised in the Joplin Missouri area and accepted Christ listening to an infomercial in my living room. I married the woman of my dreams, Kassie Johnson, on May 23rd, 2009. ( I recommend marriage…its fun! ) I love Jesus, Kassie, and Music in that order!

My musical career has been a long journey of trusting God, even when I thought it seemed like the worst idea ever, and learning to serve others before myself. It’s been a bumpy ride, but I wouldn’t change a bit of it! I serve a God who saved me from a lifetime of serving myself, fall more in love with my wonderful wife every day, and get paid to play music with the best of friends…how much better of an outcome could I have asked for? I’m from Texas and I’m super proud of it, though most of my friends here in Missouri think I just came fresh off the boat from Japan.

Although I’m a southwest boy at heart, Joplin, MO is definitely the place I call home. I really love the whole hiking, camping, spelunking, exploring thing. I like throwing the frisbee and just about anything to get me out in the sun. I’ve pretty much always loved music. God has been relentlessly reminding me over the last several years what amazing opportunities music can provide to show His love and grace. I have been blessed beyond measure up to this point and I can’t tell you how excited I am for what the future holds!
Sleeper
Jordan Howerton Band Lyrics

I had no life.
You have risen.
Im alive.
I once was dead.
I had no life.
You have risen.
Im alive.
Awake.
Oh come alive.
Come alive.
Oh come alive.
The Jordan Howerton Band's song Sleeper is a powerful message about redemption and new beginnings. The opening line "I once was dead" may refer to a state of hopelessness, despair, or simply spiritual deadness. The subsequent line "I had no life" could be interpreted to mean that the singer was going through the motions of life without experiencing true joy, purpose or fulfillment. However, with the next line "You have risen" there comes a sudden realization that things are about to change. It can be inferred that the "You" referred to is either a divine entity or someone whom the singer admires who has brought positive changes and a new perspective to their life. The lines "I'm alive" and "Come alive, awake" emphasize the sudden transformation the singer has gone through.
Overall, the song is a call to wake up and realize that a new beginning is possible, that redemption is available and that one's past doesn't have to define their future. The repetition of the phrase "Come alive" and the use of the word "awake" suggests a sense of urgency and a desire to get people to take action and make the most of their lives.
