In Cielo Rojo, José Feliciano expresses the discomfort and sadness he feels after losing his love. He says that he is walking alone without her love and doesn't know what to do. He feels like even the sky doesn't answer him when he calls out her name. Since he lost her at night, he hasn't been able to forget her. He is continuously being shadowed by the doubts and jealousy that he feels for her.
He asks her to let him look for her and if he finds her, to come back to him. To forget the past, to not think about it and to come back to his love. He sees himself and his love in his dreams soaring high in the sky where the sky is blue, and everything is perfect. But when he wakes up, all that is left with him is a sky that is red, symbolizing his separation from his love. He accepts the mistake that he made that caused their separation, but he requests his love to look into his eyes once again and love him the way she used to.
