Do You Hear What I Hear
Jose Mari Chan Lyrics

Said the night wind to the little lamb,
do you see what I see
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
do you see what I see
A star, a star, dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite
With a tail as big as a kite
Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy,
do you hear what I hear
Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy,
do you hear what I hear
A song, a song, high above the trees
With a voice as big as the sea
With a voice as big as the sea
Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king,
do you know what I know
In your palace warm, mighty king,
do you know what I know
A Child, a Child shivers in the cold
Let us bring Him silver and gold
Let us bring Him silver and gold
Said the king to the people everywhere,
listen to what I say
Pray for peace, people everywhere!
listen to what I say
The Child, the Child, sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light
He will bring us goodness and light
The song "Do You Hear What I Hear?" by Jose Mari Chan is a beautiful Christmas carol that has become a classic over the years. It opens with the night wind asking the little lamb if it sees what it sees, and the lamb responds seeing a star with a tail as big as a kite up in the sky. The following verse sees the lamb asking the shepherd boy if he hears what it hears, which is a song ringing through the sky, with a voice as big as the sea, high above the trees.
The third verse sees the shepherd boy asking the mighty king if he knows what he knows, that a Child shivers in the cold. The king then tells the people to pray for peace, for the Child will bring us goodness and light. The overall message of the song is to spread peace and love in the world and to heed the message of the Child.
The song is a beautiful representation of the birth of Jesus Christ and the hope for peace and unity in the world. It is an uplifting and encouraging song that inspires hope and love during the holiday season and serves as a reminder to all of us to spread these values in our daily lives.
