Bring Him Home
Josh Groban Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

God on high
Hear my prayer
In my need
You have always been there
He is young
He's afraid
Let him rest
Heaven blessed.
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.

He's like the son I might have known
If God had granted me a son.
The summers die
One by one
How soon they fly
On and on
And I am old
And will be gone.

Bring him peace
Bring him joy
He is young
He is only a boy
You can take
You can give
Let him be
Let him live
If I die
Let me die
Let him live
Bring him home

Bring him home
Bring him home

This is Jen. Thank you for you heartfelt replies…they make me feel good knowing other people care. Update: it’ll be 3 years since she past in January 2023. Last June 27th (Mayas Birthday) me and my family met at Ocean Shores Wa.. some came from Ohio and Utah plus Wa.
We let her ashes wash away into the tides of the Pacific Ocean. My son and everyone there cried knowing that Maya is in a better place. I take comfort in knowing I’ll see her again after my life is done.
She was an old soul who didn’t have fear in life, and before her young age of 20, saved a year to pay to help build mud water tanks and build twig doors for the the poorest women in tribes who had no husband or son to protect the girls and their mother and children of their own from rapes at young ages. While hiking 7-12 miles (with both predators Man and Wild Animals) after them as they carry baskets of water on their heads. Water to make as tea and with their cup of rice that will sustain a family of 4 for a week.
Maya always cared for others more than herself. She meant a lot to many people.
She competed world wide in traditional Irish Dancing for years and usually placed high near the podium at worlds in Dublin, Belfast Ireland 🇮🇪, and other countries such as London England, and Scotland.
Until her father wouldn’t allow her to continue competing in Dance at age 17.

Another favorite song of mine is “As she dances” sung beautifully by Josh Groban.
One of my life bucket lists was to see Josh in concert, which happened last summer at a winery in the outskirts of Seattle Wa.
He looked either tired or weary or cold from his tour here. But his radiant personality was felt, and our ears were filled with love and joy as he sung his songs! He is a blessing to this world 🌎 as was my beautiful daughter Maya.
Thank you for reading if you finished this.
I am now at peace as time heals. It’s natures way.
❤️❤️❤️

@Lovemy60to70era

So sorry for you loss. My Mother lost two sons one 48 the other 40 and shortly after she died of a broken heart.❤

You are so strong Jackie, and you never deserved for any of that to happen to you, I wish that it didn’t. It’s so hard to know that this can happen to anyone’s loved ones at any time in the blink of an eye, sounds like that’s what happened to you. I don’t know you, but I have so much love in my heart for you and I hope with all my power that you are happy more often than you are sad ❤️

This song reminds me so much of a song that is called Home by Gary Puckett and the Union Gap Band.
Written during the Vietnam War.
So heartbreaking and so beautiful!
