Groban originally studied acting, but moved to singing as his voice developed. Groban attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, a free public school on the campus of California State University, Los Angeles, where students receive a conservatory-style education. David Foster called Groban to stand in for an ailing Andrea Bocelli to rehearse a duet, "The Prayer", with Celine Dion at the rehearsal for the 1998 Grammy Awards. Rosie O'Donnell immediately invited him to appear on her talk show. Foster asked him to sing at the California Governor's Gray Davis' 1999 inauguration. Career
1997–2001: Debut
In late 1997, the 16-year-old Groban was introduced by his vocal coach, Seth Riggs, to Grammy-winning producer and arranger David Foster and future manager Brian Avnet.[18][failed verification] At the time, Groban had no recording experience and was preparing for his studies at Carnegie Mellon.[18] Groban worked for David Foster as a rehearsal singer on a series of high-profile events, including the January 1999 California gubernatorial inauguration of Gray Davis and the 1999 Grammy Awards where—as a stand-in for Andrea Bocelli—he rehearsed Foster's "The Prayer" with Céline Dion. Groban finished his fifth studio album, entitled Illuminations, and the album was released on November 15, 2010.[24] Most of the songs on the album are about "specific situations that I've had where love has existed and ultimately failed," Groban told The New York Times, adding: "And other songs are about the quest, and it just not working out." Groban wrote 11 of the 13 songs on the album.[25] The first single from the album, "Hidden Away", was made available for free download via Facebook on September 8.[26] "For me to sit in a room with a piano in one take with some of Johnny Cash's musicians—that was totally new for me." The song "Evermore" by Josh Groban is a beautiful ballad that tells a story of a man who thought he had everything under control only to realize later that he had lost the love of his life. The first verse hints at how he was arrogant, thinking he had everything he wanted and needed in his life without anyone's help. But he realizes too late that he pushed away the one person who truly loved and understood him. He's now haunted by the memories of that lost love and can't escape from the pain that it brings him.
In the chorus, he admits that even though she's gone, she'll never truly leave him. She'll always be a part of his life, and he'll keep thinking about her even as he goes through the motions of his lonely existence. He's waiting for her to come back, even though he knows deep down that it's not going to happen. The second verse shows the rage that he feels because of his loss, and how he wishes he could turn back time and make everything right again. He knows that she's gone, but that doesn't stop him from hoping and wishing for her to return.

@@DeviousKitten27 I think they’re referring to how this spectacular rendition is just being played over a montage/slideshow of pictures from the movie.
I saw the movie in theatres, and I was lucky enough that I think they actually played this version over that part in the film

@@ansleyvangorkom9491 They definitely did not play this version over the part in the film. No movie theater would alter the movie soundtrack. Movie theaters are only licensed to play the movie the way it is given to them. You may just hear the similarities because the "beast" voice that was digitally altered sounds a lot like Josh Groban's.

The way I see it is Josh is singing as Adam, Dan as the beast. Josh is what the beast really sounded like before he was cursed and after he was cured. Both are perfect.

Actually, Josh Groban is singing akin to how Terrance Mann portrayed the Beast on Broadway. “Evermore” was inspired by “If I Can’t Love Her” from the Broadway show.

If you are struggling read this~ I know I’m young but I would just like to say that, In 7th grade I was in a very dark place. I couldn’t feel much emotion and I had thoughts of revenge and the other things. But God saved me, he gave me the people in my life and he showed himself to me. Even in my darkest days he was there with me, he never left me. One day while I was in bed I started to pray with my hand to the sky and I felt something holding my hand. At that very moment I knew it was him. I repent of all of the sins I have committed. I am ready to begin a new life with him. There is still time to repent love one another and believe in Christ for he will forgive you❤️ He helped me in hard times he will help you too:)
