Street Lights
Josh Rouse Lyrics

Rock and roll
You are envy, I am
So uncool
Still I want to do the best I can
Let's meet on the corner and act like we're old friends

We can talk about the streetlights
The people
Surrounding you
In a haze

Won't you tell me how it feels
To be a nervous man
At the wheels
You don't have a master plan
But you will start today
You will start today

I called you up
Cause I felt so guilty
Ended up
It was not such a pretty scene
Let's dump the ashtray, wipe the table clean

We can talk about the streetlights
The people
Surrounding you
In a haze

Won't you tell me how it feels
To be an famous man
At the wheel
You don't have a master plan
But you will start today
You will start today
You will start

When all of your fear is gone
And you're thinking that you're strong
Enough
To make the jump up to the big big sky, sky

We can talk about the streetlights
The people
Surrounding you
It's a strong pull
We can talk about the streetlights
The people
Going down

And you will start today
You will start today
You will start today
You will start
Today

I honestly have to say this is my most favorite song on the planet. I can only imagine the serotonin rushing through Josh's veins when he finished writing this absolute master piece. He had to be super stoked in the knowing the beauty he just created. This guy is just beautiful....Please keep creating, writing...the world is a better place with you in it.

steve helline This was my groups’ favourite song in our final years of high school in 2007-2008. I recently bought my best friends tickets to see Rouse in Toronto. I couldn’t make it but they had an amazing time. He is just pure joy.

its funny how some certain music just always reminds you of the wistful memories of the past you thought that you had forgotten.

Now this is what I like about Josh rouse, good music for just a chill car ride around the city or sipping on some coffee on a Saturday morning.

Kevin Tangney

One of my all-time favorite songs.
