--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My name is Joshua, not Josh. That's always one of the first things people ask me. Believe it or not, it's usually brought up in discussion within the first five minutes of meeting someone new. With that said, next time you bump into me don't feel the need to ask...but I have a feeling you're going to ask either way just because I said something about it.
I'm a producer, songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, visionary and blah blah blah. I've been told I'm the big picture guy. In all reality I just make a point to love my life and be creative and positive in the process. Live in the moment and look for ways to make a difference. I support a cause called “Why I Smile Today.” I make a point to try and have you smiling within the first 15 seconds in communicating with you.
The best way to find out about the projects I'm working on is to just google my name...lol. No don't do that. I have a feeling there are some pictures floating around out there from when I started out doing this at 16. OK, now to answer the question directly. I am releasing a new single titled “Forever Over You” May 2012 being mixed by Brian Lee White. This is one of the most rockin' tracks I've ever released. It's basically like putting on a pair of boots, kicking someone in the teeth and then helping them up off the ground. The single will be available in the majority of all storefronts across the globe.
The single is the first song I'll be releasing as a producer. I will be releasing one song every month for the next six months. This way I can stay true to each song and maintain this as an artist. From what I've learned in the 10 years I've been doing this is that you just have to keep on doing what your doing and treat mistakes as a necessary way to learn to do better. On that note, I currently have a 2004 Demo EP and 2008 LP recorded with ZodLounge available for purchase over on iTunes, Amazon, Pandora, Lynda.com.
Thank you so much for reading and listening!
Take Me Down
Joshua Armstrong Lyrics

We hit the town
And I'll never forget that sound
Tonight I fell asleep at the wheel
I woke up just in time with chills
Darting down my spine
Take me down, take me down
Wherever my heart goes
I'll come around I'll come around
Like I always
I'll get my feet on the ground
I'll get my feet on the ground
Mess around
We messed around
But as empty as we were
There's was no love to be found
So I take the pills to help me sleep
Wake up just in time with nightmares
Tugging at my sheets
Take me down, take me down
And my feet will follow
Wherever my heart goes
I'll come around I'll come around
Like I always
I'll get my feet on the ground
I'll get my feet on the ground
Let me drink you away
Let me drink you away
The harder I try
The more that I seem to pay
I don't want to be like this
My bodies aching
My pulse is racing
Take me down take me down
And my feet will follow
Wherever my heart goes
I'll come around
I'll come around
Like I always
I'll get my feet on the ground
Take me down take me down
And my feet will follow
Wherever my heart goes
I'll come around
I'll come around
Like I always
I'll get my feet on the ground
I'll get my feet on the ground
I'll get my feet on the ground

The first stanza of Joshua Armstrong's song Take Me Down sets the tone for the entire song, where the singer is trouble-bound, with a hint of recklessness in him. He sings about hitting the town and hearing that unforgettable sound. However, the second line sounds a warning: "Tonight I fell asleep at the wheel / I woke up just in time with chills." The singer remembers being enveloped by fear, with a chill running down his spine. This line suggests that the singer's reckless and carefree behavior may have dire consequences. Although the singer wants to be taken down like a wild animal, his feet will follow wherever his heart takes him.
The chorus, "Take me down, take me down / And my feet will follow, wherever my heart goes," is repeated throughout the song. It conveys the idea that no matter how much the singer's surroundings change or how much he struggles with his own demons, he will always come around and get his feet on the ground. The second stanza alludes to the singer's troubled relationship: "We messed around / But as empty as we were / There's was no love to be found." The singer feels empty, but he takes pills to help him sleep, only to wake up with nightmares tugging at his sheets.
Overall, the song Take Me Down is about a person who is trouble-bound, reckless, and empty inside. The song conveys the idea that the singer is searching for something, but he is unsure of what he is looking for. The chorus of the song suggests that regardless of what happens, the singer will keep coming back, and his feet will always find a way to stand on the ground.
