Yeah, when I wrote this comment I did not understand their sister dynamic very well. I also a little biased, since Lizzie was my favorite, and I related more to her. But after looking at it again, I understand what you are saying, and I agree that Lizzie did neglect Josie and cast her aside without considering her feelings. She is not a mind reader, but she should have given Josie’s feelings more importance and pay attention to how she acted and her facial expressions.

The part when Josie tells Lizzie that Caroline's dress was given to her by Klaus and then that lyric, that super foreshadowing lyric kicked in "your in my head, always, always" I thought OH MY GOD he is, Klaus is always in Hope's mind, Klaus means everything to Hope and she never got over the fact that he had to die to save her and Danielle's acting was so, so perfect!!!! especially when Hope learned the dress came from Klaus and then, the birth of Hope and Lizzie's friendship!!! I'm so glad Hope was wearing that dress. Josie doesn't deserve to wear it, especially after setting hopes room on fire. When everything was revealed she didn't even apologize to Hope. She just said "I did it because I was scared and I had a crush on you." Hope revealed that everything she had from her dad was destroyed and Josie didn't even say anything. She just sat in the car crying and looking out the window trying to make herself the victim.

As much as there is to dislike about Roman for his part in Hayley's death, I love the immediate concern he shows for Hope's wellbeing, as well as knowing to give her space and not try to comfort her, seeing as he is a trigger himself. Just as well, as much as Lizzie messed with things with both Josie and the dress choice, I love how she was there for Hope, and knew how to comfort her <3 I love the Hizzie friendship :) Hope's crying always seems to break me and then I cry, so I'm especially glad Lizzie gave her the hug she deserves <3

I can't OMG DANIELLE'S ACTING IS SO FREAKING AWESOME AND I JUST LOVED THIS EPISODE SO MUCH especially this scene. It was inevitable, with the trauma of landon dying still fresh, her emotions were obviously going to play themselves. Then finding out that she is actually wearing a dress that her father chose. Man, i teared up. She tried so hard to control her emotions. Plus, Lizzy and hope are the new goals.

You can’t for one second tell me that Klaroline were never meant to be or that Stefan was Caroline’s soulmate or that you loved them as a couple; I never did, I only wanted them to be friends. Lizzie may be self-absorbed at times but Josie is way more annoying. She has the choice to speak up and make decisions for herself yet she chooses to follow Lizzie's instructions and then blames Lizzie for not considering her feelings. Lizzie never forces her to do anything and yet she makes it seems like she is the victim all the time. She needs to stop throwing herself a pity party. Penelope is also wrong. She does love Josie but it was very childish and an invasion of privacy to read everyone's journal entries. She literally knows about everyone's feelings and secrets in that school. @TheMarkmcr I thought it was really selfish that she left her dad and sister in the prison world to have a magical day with Sebastian. Like you and your family just got sucked into an inescapable prison and you're gonna go play dress up? Yeah, her dad lied to her about some stuff but I would think it would be a priority to think of ways to escape. She just leaves them to stroll off with Sebastian (who also was lying to her).

She didn't help figure out a way to escape and wasn't around when her family was in danger, either. What if they needed help? What if they found a way sooner, would they all have to go looking for her? It's just that her self centered thinking makes me unable to like her.

@Sophie Vanderbilt if it really was about hiding behind lizzie, she would have given up on her crush instead of lying, and not chase after rafael (who she later betrayed without hesitation), even though she already knew that lizzie liked him. The hiding seems more like an excuse at this point. Multiple characters have been in the same position that josie is in the coming episodes, but none of them acted like she does.

Lizzie actually has borderline personality disorder (shown best in 1x15). There are some similarities, but lizzie can't be a true narcissist because she (as far as I remember) has openly admitted she's selfish at least six times.

@TheMarkmcr I definitely don't see Josie as the "better" twin, cause yeah she's got some major issues. I don't think she's manipulative, though, she's just a coward. It's easier for her to hide her feelings and hide behind her sister than it is to fess up. Even though her reasoning is immature and cowardly, I still see her in the support role.

I still don't like Lizzie, tho. She's straight up rude and mean to strangers, unless they're hot or have something of use to her. She talked about her 16th bday party like it was just about her and not her twin sister, too! I mean she didn't even notice Josie was missing from the party till way later. She uses her "friends" to get what she wants, and expects unconditional support when she needs it, too.

Is she supposed to be bipolar? Cause to me, she's just a narcissist. My husband is bipolar so I've done a lot of research on it, and I just don't see it in Lizzie.

Lizzie's and Hopes interaction this episode reminded me of Klaus's and Caroline's friendship and the mutual respect they had for each other. They were able to connect with each other to such a level that they knew exactly what the other was feeling or thinking... This is exactly what the show needs: Long-lasting Friendship. They can let Josie and Hope have the romantic angle since both Caroline and Klaus were attracted to each other that way too. It would be a good continuation of Klaus and Caroline's legacies via Lizzie, Josie and Hope.

I always wondered how they’d portray the Saltzman twins dynamic with Hope especially since they were all these miracle babies in their original respective shows. Glad to see the sisterly connection they develop by season 2 since Hope really does need support from family now and the Saltzman clan have major history with Hope’s world.

TheMac 727 we saw just how selfish she could be with the genie wishes. Everything she wished for messed up everyone else's lives. She ruined her own dad's dreams just because she was jealous of Hope. She never thought for a 2nd that no school meant that her dad would lose his life's work. She had to fail over and over and completely ruin everything beyond repair b4 she finally learned her lesson. And even now she can't remember any of it so it's like almost back to square one. I don't doubt her character has some redeeming qualities, but she is by no means the victim at any point. She is just as much to blame as josie. And maybe if she allowed some more empathy for others or specifically her sister, then their relationship dynamic would not be so skewed. where josie always feels the need to be quiet so as to not step on her toes. Ur acting like if josie spoke up and opposed her earlier that she would've listened. But nothing about her character traits indicate that. The show goes out of it's way to tell u that josie let's lizzie have her way because she gets nasty about it. So what part of that attitude indicates that things would've been better if Josie has said something sooner

Regardless of what josie did, lizzie played a direct part in it. It's not like if lizzie was blameless. U r completely choosing to forget the part where she has a very selfish personality from the start. So big heart or not, she acts like a bitch to everyone including her sister. If she hadn't been so inconsiderate to her sister's feelings from the start, josie wouldn't have felt the need to do those things. The rumors and the fire were direct responses to her sister's behavior, and were not typical character traits for her. Whereas lizzie has always been shown to be selfish, and to not think about her sister's feelings

Josie was totally wrong in this episode to yell at lizzie, Lizzie supported hope because she wants to repair her fractured friendship with her because of Josie lie. If Josie had openly told her about her wish to win the pageant I'm sure lizzie would have supported her instead. Josie is becoming more and more irritating by each episode by making excuses and not taking responsibility herself.

I think Josie was more upset at the fact that her sister didn’t consider her feelings and to her face said that she didn’t have a chance of winning because she wasn’t pretty/good enough that wearing the dress, she said that as a final blow. Also Lizzie didn’t tell her that Penelope was leaving even though she knew. Lizzie also constantly looks over Josie.

People say that Josie should just open her mouth, but it’s not that easy especially if it’s your own sibling, she was also worried that if she said something it would effect lizzie’s mental health. Josie doesn’t deserve all the hate she just need’s some one that can be there for her and she doesn’t have that, her dad is always with hope, Lizzie has their mom but she has no one.

Josie is actually being a major hypocrite at 0:47. She should have realized that lizzie wouldn't be concerned about her feelings after she admitted (involuntarily) that she had selfishly played her, hope, and penelope against each other while acting like the victim the whole time.

If you continued watching the show, you'd notice that even though lizzie has significantly improved as a person, josie doesn't seem to care at all and is still finding ways to blame her for everything.

Like she said she’s not a mind reader so she might not have known that Josie and Penelope we’re getting a lot closer again so why should she be expected to tell josie what she heard, and even if she did know why shouldn’t she assume that Penelope already told josie. This was my favorite scene of the episode and something I've been waiting for all season. Lizzie and Hope are great for each other as friends, they're more alike than they realized. Lizzie giving Hope this moment to just let it out and cry was wonderful.

I think Hope feels that she doesn't have her family (hence the panic attacks )and that she is alone in the world (even though she does have her aunt and uncle alive but they are too busy with their lives to check on hope). Having someone like that around might help her condition and comfort her. Also, can we have Klaus look alike on the show if Joesph/Klaus isn't set to have any special appearance anytime soon? Like why don't they bring in Hope's distant cousin from Klaus's wolf clan as we never got to know much about them...They could introduce that person as the new mystery guy who plans to kill Hope due to the rumour/myth about her (TO season 1 early episode had witches saying that Hope was going to be the end of the world or something) and later starts to really get to know her and perhaps fall for her (like how Klaus was all bad when he was first introduced and later changed due to Caroline and all the other events). It would be a good way to continue the stories from both TVD and TO and bring some unaddressed plots to the table... Another reason why Hope needs someone new is that I find Roman or Landon or any of the other people as not a good match for Hope. She needs someone powerful and smart by her side. She may be a Mickelson but even Mickelson needed powerful allies... Perhaps this cousin could have more combat/naturalistic training and would give Alaric a good challenge.
