School
Josie Cotton Lyrics

One, two, one, two, three, four

I'm so glad that school is in
An I can see my old classmates again
I worked and slaved the summer through
Doing all the things my mama told me to do
I washed the dishes, I scrubbed the floor
Taught me to love what I've began before

Now I'm so glad the summers past
And school is in at last
School is in oh yeah, school is in
School is in, school is in oh yeah
School is in, school is in

Now you make think I'm nutty and tellin' you lies
But I'm going out tonight and find my school supplies

Cause it's a mission gonna be a gas
I said school is in at last
School is in oh yeah, school is in
School is in, school is in don't ya know it, oh yeah
School is in, school is in
School is in oh yeah, school is in
School is in oh yeah, school is in

Now summertime has come to an end
So I've gotta get back to my studies again
And make a grade so I can pass
And go-o-o up to the head of my class
I washed the dishes and scrubbed the floor
And taught me to love what I'd began before

Now I'm so glad the summers past
And school is in at last
School is in oh yeah, school is in
School is in, school is in oh yeah
School is in, school is in
School is in oh yeah, school is in

School is in oh yeah, school is in
School is in

I remember this from Valley Girl and the 80's. What an amazing time to have been a teenager!

I was just looking at the soundtrack myself as well 😂😂😂😂

Josie Cotton had so much talent. Her vocals are amazing. It's sad, but not all those who are talented are justly rewarded. It comes down to decisions (good and poor) made in the boardrooms of music studios. Which is to say, it comes down to guesses and taste (good and bad). Change one or two decisions, and Josie Cotton could have been as big as any female pop artist of the 80s.
