Josie has appeared in Skins (including the forthcoming new series), which she also writes for. In demand both here and abroad, 2008 saw Josie performing sell-out shows at the Comedy Central workspace in Los Angeles, the Adelaide Fringe, the New Zealand Comedy Festival and the Melbourne Comedy Festival where she was nominated for the Barry Award. On top of this she was invited to perform Trying Is Good at the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival this July. She also has two extensive sell-out UK tours under her belt and is still only in her mid-twenties. Her distinctive voice, boundless enthusiasm and innovative shows have made her a favourite among comedians and audiences alike. In May this year she was selected by Stewart Lee to perform in a series of events entitled The 10 Best Stand-ups in the World... Ever.

After the comedy world started to take notice of Josie in 1999 at the tender age of 17, when she won the BBC New Comedy Award and was runner-up for So You Think You’re Funny?, Josie decided to put her stand-up on hold to go to University. In 2004 she was selected to appear in the reputable Edinburgh Festival Big Value Show, creating a buzz with her obsessive and ridiculous stories, leaving audiences smitten with her innocent wonder and loveable madness. In 2005 she performed at Edinburgh in An Audience with Dan and Josie and supported Stewart Lee on a nationwide tour. In 2006 she won the prestigious If.Comedy Newcomer award for her first solo show, Kindness & Exuberance.

Josie is a regular on Radio 1's Switch show with her 'confuse the teacher' feature. She has been part of Robin Ince’s ‘Book Club Tour’, a guest on Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC2), Jon Ronson on... (Radio 4), Out to Lunch (Radio 2), Big Brothers Big Mouth (E4) and has performed in 28 Acts in 28 Minutes and Four on the Floor (Radio 4). Other TV and radio credits include The Milk Run (BBC Radio One), The Last Chancers (C4) and Brain Candy (BBC 3).

And, of course, the inaccuracies. There absolutely WAS theme music to the first season, though it was completely unrelated to the jingle-y ditty behind the animated re-done opening. So many inaccuracies for a small 6 minute video lol. Like saying Rodgers part typically revolved around Tony trying to "keep him from figuring out who Genie really was". Sure thats how the very first few episodes went but it was soon revealed to him and for a while he was an a**hole trying to steal genie. Also i thought the fans generally received the marriage well, tho i admit i could be wrong about that one...i liked it anyway lol

OK now I’m adding my two cents. As a person who grew up during this era and watched this iconic sitcom, I can tell you that there was such a thing as fan magazines back in the stone ages of the 60s. TV shows that became popular and potential hits contacted these magazines and supplied them with what they called stock photos. These were photographs taken of the stars of TV shows that had promise of becoming hits. And thanks to something called Google, a simple search under images and the names Larry Hagman, Barbara Eden, and others on the show would have provided more than enough stock photos and footage to do a proper info video geared towards people from that generation. The people you are showing in this video probably don’t care about or aren’t even aware of any TV made before the age of Rugrats or Powerpuff Girls.

@@quin2018 That's great! I think it is so neat that the younger generations are checking out, AND liking, the wealth of entertainment that precedes them. Music is a prime example. I try to be as open-minded as I can regarding the music offerings of the past 20 years or so, but to me it doesn't even compare to music from the 1960's to the 1980's (I do enjoy the music of the 1950's and earlier as well!). I thoroughly enjoy watching the YouTube reaction videos of younger people watching the older artists and really appreciating the talent they had without all of the augmentation done to the music today.

On the danger of sounding like a fanboy: the character Major Healy was well aware of Jeannie's nature for most of the series. Dr Bellows was the one who wasn't to find out about her. Goofs like this put all the other statements in this video into question.

Exactly. I'm old enough to sound like a fan boy also. When he started talking about Major Healy I stopped sweeping my kitchen floor to look at my phone, thinking I was mixing up characters in my head. Only to see stock videos of random people.
Then I read your comment which confirmed what I remembered. Thanks. I didn't even make it halfway through this big nothing.

But, does give me an idea. Find something on Wikipedia, record yourself reading from it, find random stock photos and videos and then upload to YouTube.

Make sure you title it, "The Real Reason..." something something.

I totally agree. The Healy comments were totally inaccurate. He also said there was no theme song during the first season. I thought Barbara Eden was a beautiful and talented actress whose portrayal of mischief and innocence made her an adorable character. Hayden Rourke superbly portrayed Dr. Bellows as the pompous psychiatrist out to get Major Nelson but whose efforts are constantly thwarted - "He's done it to me again." I remember one episode where Nelson and Jeannie turned the tables on another character (I believe portrayed by Paul Linde). In that episode, Dr. Bellows tells Major Nelson: "It was nice to see you do it to someone else for a change." RIP Hayden.

Hayden Rourke WAS Dr. Bellows, no one else could play the role to such perfection. Bellows being a psychiatrist was part of why this show was hilarious in the early seasons. Nelson almost got caught so many times.

How do I block this (or any) channel? After seeing this video, I've been trying to find some way to prevent seeing them recommended. I have clicked on tabs and dots and menus and settings and I've looked at YouTube help and I hit those three buttons at the top. I just can't find a block button. (It always happens, by the time I remember I hate these guys, it's too late, I was hooked by the title and I've already clicked their link...). I Dream of Jeannie in it's hayday was a tv phenomenon due to the scantily clad "Barbara Eden". She extolled sexuality and sensuality to her character that was beholden to a man and called him "master"..

I do recall Larry Hagman had a shiny red nose in some episodes... but my focus was mostly on Barbara Eden just gorgeous! In 1975 I sewed my harem costume for a fancy dress party, styled on Jeannie's outfit only mine was blue satin midriff and Harem pants. Somewhere I have a photo of it but the camera was a polaroid instant and the photo was showing signs of deterioration already 10 years later.

One of the most important facts not mentioned was that the show was created and many episodes were written by Sidney Sheldon--Yes, that Sidney Sheldon. Having already seen Oscar winning success for writing the screenplay for the 1947 Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer film, Sidney would move on from Jeannie to both critical and financial acclaim for his revenge novels including Master of the Game, Rage of Angels and The Other Side of Midnight. Both Master of the Game and Rage of Angels would be made into hit TV movies while The Other Side of Midnight would not only reach the big screen, but would see a sequel in the form of yet another bestselling novel years after the film

I grew up watching re runs of I dream of jennie. I never saw the b&w episodes. Bewitched which was on from 1964 to 1972 also had a b&w season we never saw. I'm a bit stunned that the wedding of genie and major nelson ended the show. Wow😱

It's amazing how many shows have been killed by resolving the primary character romantic arc. The same thing happened to 'Northern Exposure' and 'The X-Files'.

Though before my time but the classic one was The Farmer's Daughter. Once the two principle characters got hitched folks lost interest. Now, that follows the plot line of the Farmer's Daughter feature film from 20 year beforehand.

It’s interesting listening to the voiceover by someone who never watched this show when it was on television, in the sixties. And everyone else too, other than the clips from the show, all seem to be in their thirties. Hmmm. I dunno. I watched it when I was ten years old, and it was pretty exciting for me as a little kid. But it was very funny too, and I remember looking forward to the night it was on, sitting around a big tube television with my big sister.

I always had a thing for Barbara. I remember some film in 1959 I think it was with her and some Indian on a Navy ship. that had a temper. Cant remember it now. But she was easily 30 years older than me. I don't know if she is still around as most I liked when I was a young lad are gone.

Interesting fact, Bill Daley's Major Healy is an Army officer. Growing up, I mostly watched the series on a black and white television. I noticed that Major Healey wore the same Engineering insignia on his uniform that my father, an Army officer, wore on his, but I just figured the Air Force also had an Engineer Corps. I was very surprised, the first time I ever saw an episode in color, to see Makor Healey was wearing Army Green in contrast to Major Nelson's Air Force blue. I have always wondered about the creative decision to have him be in the Army. At the time, all astronauts were either in the Air Force, Navy, or Marine Corps, or they were civilian pilots. In real life, it was the 1980s before a soldier ever became an astronaut. I do not recall Healey's branch of service ever being specifically mentioned or being a plot element. I have no idea why they did that. Maybe wardrobe only had one Air Force uniform and an Army one.

Phil Spector died in prison January 16, 2021...I know this video was made before that, but that's just a tidbit for anyone who didn't know it. He was tried for the murder twice. The first time was a hung jury. 8 out of 10 jurors had found him guilty. But the second time they tried him it was for second degree murder and he was found guilty of the murder of Lana Clarkson. She was such a beauty.
