Joyce has in her baggage an extensive discography and about 400 recordings of her songs by some of the biggest names in Brazilian popular music, such as Gal Costa, Maria Bethânia, Elis Regina, Milton Nascimento, Ney Matogrosso, Edu Lobo, Emílio Santiago, Boca Livre, Mônica Salmaso, Leny Andrade, Nana Caymmi, Zizi Possi, Elizeth Cardoso, Simone and many others. Internationally, she has been recorded by big names like Annie Lennox, Wallace Roney, Omara Portuondo, Black Eyed Peas, David Sanchez, Jon Lucien, Claus Ogerman, Gerry Mulligan, Till Brönner, Flora Purim and others. Her compositions have been used in soundtracks for films (such as Robert Altman's "The Player" and "Legally Blonde"), animations (she participated in the soundtrack of the Japanese anime "Wolf's Rain" in partnership with Japanese composer Yoko Kanno), TV shows and theater performances.
She received 4 Latin Grammy nominations and has so far 34 individual CDs and 2 DVDs, besides compilations and participations. Currently, her work also follows an international path, with world tours every year and recordings of new albums in different countries, without ever losing her Brazilian-feminine identity. She performs annually on the Blue Note circuit in Japan, and in jazz festivals and tours in Europe, the United States, and Canada.
Chuvisco
Joyce Lyrics

Chuva preguiçosa, chuva lavadeira
Chuva molhando direitinho o meu amor
Chuva majestosa sobre a mantiqueira
Chuva de são pedro, santa clara luminosa
Chuva gloriosa, chuva parideira
Chuva iniciando, chuva boa, generosa
Chuva gostosa, chuva rasteira
Mas chuva grossa quando vem causa temor
Chuva perigosa, chuva traiçoeira
Chuva levando tudo o que tem de valor
Chuva caprichosa, chuva da ribeira
Chuva respondendo, nunca mais silenciosa
Chuva caudalosa feito cachoeira
Chuva carregando rua, gente, casa, roça
Tudo o que possa, pra ribanceira
Nem mal nem bem
Igual de qualquer maneira
Já foi, já vem
Outra chuva na dianteira
The song "Chuvisco" by Joyce is a reflection on the different forms that rain can take and what it represents to the singer. The lyrics describe the different nuances of rain - from the gentle, lazy drizzle to the majestic, life-giving downpour. The different types of rain evoke different feelings and meanings to the singer. For instance, "Chuva miúda" (small rain) is described as lazy yet washing away the singer's love. "Chuva gloriosa" (glorious rain) is referred to as a giver of life and witnessing the birth of new things. The song suggests that there are both positive and negative aspects to rain, and how one perceives it depends on the context of the situation. The final lines of the song speak of the cyclical nature of rain - one shower inevitably leads to another, regardless of whether it was good or bad.
