Joyce has in her baggage an extensive discography and about 400 recordings of her songs by some of the biggest names in Brazilian popular music, such as Gal Costa, Maria Bethânia, Elis Regina, Milton Nascimento, Ney Matogrosso, Edu Lobo, Emílio Santiago, Boca Livre, Mônica Salmaso, Leny Andrade, Nana Caymmi, Zizi Possi, Elizeth Cardoso, Simone and many others. Internationally, she has been recorded by big names like Annie Lennox, Wallace Roney, Omara Portuondo, Black Eyed Peas, David Sanchez, Jon Lucien, Claus Ogerman, Gerry Mulligan, Till Brönner, Flora Purim and others. Her compositions have been used in soundtracks for films (such as Robert Altman's "The Player" and "Legally Blonde"), animations (she participated in the soundtrack of the Japanese anime "Wolf's Rain" in partnership with Japanese composer Yoko Kanno), TV shows and theater performances.
She received 4 Latin Grammy nominations and has so far 34 individual CDs and 2 DVDs, besides compilations and participations. Currently, her work also follows an international path, with world tours every year and recordings of new albums in different countries, without ever losing her Brazilian-feminine identity. She performs annually on the Blue Note circuit in Japan, and in jazz festivals and tours in Europe, the United States, and Canada.

Joyce Lyrics

Nгo me zango com vocк
Porque vocк nгo tem sustanзa
Vocк nгo sabe o que faz
E quanto mais se faz, se danзa
Pra que vou me aborrecer
Perder meu tempo com cobranзa
Por gostar de uma crianзa?
Relaxe,
Nгo sou eu quem vai tentar corrigir vocк
Pena й saber
Que te falta a sutileza pra perceber
Que cansa
Que maltrata um coraзгo
Que jб nгo tem tanta esperanзa
Pra investir numa crianзa.
The lyrics of "Crianca" by Joyce bring to light the challenges of being in a relationship with someone who is immature and lacks self-awareness. In the first verse, the singer expresses their frustration with the other person's behavior, acknowledging that they do not have much substance or understanding of their actions. Despite this, the singer also acknowledges that it is pointless to get angry or try to change the other person, recognizing that they are still just a child.
The chorus emphasizes the singer's desire to not engage in a power struggle or to try and "fix" the other person. Instead, the singer suggests that it is a shame that the other person does not have the sensitivity to realize the harm they may be causing to the singer's heart, which has already been worn down by disappointment and dashed hopes. The final lines of the song express the singer's resignation to the situation, noting that they do not have any hope left to invest in the relationship with this "child."
Overall, "Crianca" is a poignant and insightful song that touches on themes of emotional maturity, the challenges of relationships, and the difficult decision to give up on someone who may not be capable of reciprocating the same level of emotional investment.
