No Tabuleiro da Baiana
Joyce Lyrics

No amor quem governa é o coração
In Joyce's song, "No Tabuleiro da Baiana," the singer paints a vivid picture of the bustling, colorful streets of Bahia, Brazil. The first verse describes the array of traditional dishes sold by street vendors, including vatapá, caruru, and mungunzá, and finishes with a playful invitation to a lover: "If I ask you, will you give me your heart and your love?" The second verse takes a more introspective turn, acknowledging the many shades of emotion found in the heart of a Bahian, from seduction and illusion to deep spiritual devotion. As the song continues, the singer expresses a desire for a particular "baianinha" (a term of endearment for a Bahian woman), lamenting the uncertainty of love and acknowledging the power of the heart to govern our actions.
