Prayer
Joyous Celebration Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
For me to know that you're mine
Yet you've been standing by my heart's door
For as long as I can remember
Why did it take so long
For me to know Lord that you're mine
Yet you've been knocking by my heart's door
Lord you can take me
You can make me
You can make me what you want
You can hold me
Lord you can mold me
You can make me what you want
Make me lord what you want
Yes, yes Lord yes Lord, yes Lord
It's my prayer
Take me Lord
And break me Lord
Make me over again Lord
Break me Jesus
And make me what
What you want me to be
I said take me Lord (take me Lord)
And break me Lord (break me Lord)
Make me over again, make me over again
Hold me Lord ( hold me Lord)
And mold me Lord (mold me Lord)
It's my prayer
It's my prayer
Singing this unto you Lord
We give, Lord, to you
Kea ho amohela (Kea ho amohela)
Jwale Morena le Mopholosi
O shwetse sefapano
Ntlhatswe ntlhakodisise
O morena waka
Kea ho amohela (Kea ho amohela)
Jwale Morena le Mopholosi
O jwetse sefapano
Ntate nthlatswe, ntate nthlatswe ntlhakodisise
O morena waka
Kea ho amohela (Kea ho amohela)
Jwale Morena le Mopholosi
O shwetse sefapano (o shwetse)
Ntlhatswe ntlhakodisise (Ntlhatswe)
O morena waka
Kea ho amohela (Kea ho amohela)
Jwale Morena le Mopholosi
O shwetse sefapano (o shwetse)
Ntlhatswe ntlhakodisise (Ntlhatswe)
O morena waka
It's a prayer
That he makes us
He molds us
He moves us
He shapes us
He is the potter
And we are the clay
And we give ourselves away
That you must use us Lord
Its our prayer Lord
Cos he makes us (he makes us)
He molds us (he molds us)
He moves us (he moves us)
He shapes us (he shapes us)
The lyrics to Joyous Celebration's song Prayer speak of one's realization of God's presence and love in their life, despite having ignored his presence for a long time. The song opens with the singer asking God why it took them so long to realize that he is theirs, despite him having been knocking on their heart's door for as long as they can remember. The singer submits to God's will, asking him to mold them into whatever he wants, to take and break them, to make them anew. The song then transitions to a prayer in Sesotho, asking God to come into their lives and mold them into his image.
The song is a powerful expression of one's faith and surrender to God, acknowledging his power as the potter and the person as the clay. It reminds believers to submit themselves to God's will and allow him to mold them into his likeness.

Now that's a soprano! Crystal clear mid & upper belts. She's got an exceptional head voice and the manner with which she hits (& sings) notes in the 5th octave is very impressive.
Vocally, she outsang everyone on the 17th album.

I feel like she has her moments
Just like this installment was her time.
But I still haven't forgiven her for what she did to Wendy Mseleku's "Change"...not that it takes anything from her singing
