One of their earliest singles "Illusion" gained attention when it became part of a global campaign the retailer and fashion line H&M. But their breakthrough came in 2018 with their cover of "Dancing in the Moonlight,". The song was originally recorded in 1970 by Boffalongo, led by Kelly Sherman, and popularized by King Harvest. Jubël's version, featuring vocals by Neimy, initially charted in Sweden, Norway, and Belgium. However, a re-release in 2020 propelled the song to greater international success, charting on the UK Singles Chart and peaking at number 11. The track gained further exposure when it was featured in the sixth series of the reality show Love Island in 2020.
While experimenting in the studio with the melody of Toploader's 2000 version, itself a cover of the 1972 original by King Harvest, Jubël sensed its potential and enlisted the help of their friend Neimy for vocals. Despite spending several years shelved, the song garnered attention when an English guy, having heard one of Jubël's other songs, contacted them and expressed interest in listening to their music.
Following their breakthrough, Jubël released additional tracks such as "Teenage Minds" and "On the Beach," featuring their characteristic sound with decadent guitars and floating melodies. In 2019, they released their debut album, "Strawtown," followed by the "Strawtown EP" in 2020. Their music continued to find success, with "Weekend Vibes" becoming another radio hit and gaining popularity on TikTok with over 150 million video views. The duo also performed at Stockholm's Lollapalooza music festival, showcasing their talents to a wider audience.
Jubël's success extended beyond their initial breakthrough, collaborating with Israeli artist Noa Kirel and Danish international superstar Christopher in 2022. They later released "Tripel A," a collaboration with American rap star NLE Choppa.

You and I keep fallin' back
Into one another
In the darkest hour
We are always findin' ways
To comfort each other
Are we somethin'
That we make
To forget about a broken heart?
4AM
I'm tired of 'just keep it fun'
And we can run and laugh for now
What are we runnin' from?
What are we runnin' from?
What are we runnin' from?
What are we runnin' from?
We go separate ways
But everywhere I look, I see you
Over my shoulder
Just another day
When I've been countin' hours
'Til we get a bit closer
Are we somethin'
Or are we just another call
That we make
To forget about a broken heart?
At 4AM
I'm tired of 'just keep it fun'
And we can run and laugh for now
What are we runnin' from?
What are we runnin' from?
What are we runnin' from?
What are we runnin' from?
Are we somethin'
Or are we just another call
That we make
To forget about a broken heart?
4AM
I'm tired of 'just keep it fun'
(Keep it fun)
And we can run and laugh for now
What are we runnin' from?
What are we runnin' from?
What are we runnin' from?
What are we runnin' from?
And we can run and laugh for now
The song "4AM" by Jubël is about a complicated relationship between two individuals who always seem to find comfort in each other's company. The first verse describes how they always seem to come together when the lights go out, falling back into one another's arms. Even in their darkest moments, they find a way to comfort each other. The chorus questions whether their relationship is something meaningful or just another temporary distraction from their heartbreak. The repetition of "What are we running from?" suggests that there may be underlying issues that they are trying to escape.
The second verse talks about how they inevitably go their separate ways but continue to think about each other. The line "over my shoulder" suggests that even when they're not together, they can still feel each other's presence. The chorus repeats the same questions, implying that they are still unsure about the nature of their relationship. The line "I'm tired of 'just keep it fun'" suggests that they may be getting tired of the superficial nature of their relationship and are looking for something more meaningful.
Overall, "4AM" is a song about the complexity of relationships and the uncertainty that comes with them. The lyrics suggest that even though they may be trying to run away from their problems, they can't help but come back to each other. The repetitive chorus emphasizes the confusion and uncertainty that they are feeling.
