With the release of Heaven in Flames (1999), Duane Timlin (aka Cryptic Winter) joined the band as a session drummer. During 1999 and 2000, Akhenaten twice performed live with a line-up featuring members from Nargaroth, Krieg, Absu and Maniac Butcher.
After relocating to Germany, Akhenaten announced the demise of Judas Iscariot on August 25, 2002.
From Hateful Visions

I saw the flame, flames of the fire
and they are surreal
gaze down upon the creation
take my existence away
from the hills and valleys
from the fields
then it all fell down
then in my scream
then the last fell down
then the feeble screams
and time returns again
and my place to dwell
lord of infinite power
line my ancient walls
from my ancient woe
from my hatred seed
picture the call of evil
and my heart is cold
and my soul insists
to call upon the lord
I drown my ancient foes
and all my soul this is
the forgiveness of sin
my dark dungeons of hell
know that I'm sick
and what my death will plan
a dark dungeon of hell!
In "From Hateful Visions," Judas Iscariot delves into the depths of darkness and despair, depicting a world without hope, where even the creator has abandoned his subjects. The first few lines of the song convey an eerie scene of the artist witnessing the darkest of places, perhaps suggesting that he is exploring his own inner darkness. The sight of the "flames of the fire" adds to the ominous vibe. The next few lines hint at the artist wanting to escape his own existence, wanting to be separate from the land in which God fell down. This line could be interpreted in multiple ways, one of which could be the artist being disillusioned with his surroundings or even questioning the existence of God, and as a result, wanting to abandon his physical form.
As the song progresses, the artist seems to have come to terms with his hatred and anger, accepting that evil is a part of him. By calling upon the lord (the devil perhaps), he drowns his foes (inner demons) and is set free from sin, paving his way into the dark dungeons of hell. The final line seems to be a proclamation that the artist has embraced the darkness, and that is where he will reside.
Overall, "From Hateful Visions" is a dark, brooding song that delves deep into the human psyche, exploring the potential for evil that lurks within us all.
