Follow the Yellow Brick Youre Off to See the Wizard
Judy Garland Lyrics

Follow the yellow brick road
Follow the yellow brick road
Follow, follow, follow, follow
Follow the yellow brick road

Follow the rainbow over the stream
Follow the fellow who follows a dream
Follow, follow, follow, follow
Follow the yellow brick road
We're off to see the Wizard
The wonderful Wizard of Oz
We hear he is a whiz of a wiz
If ever a wiz there was
If ever, oh ever a wiz there was

The Wizard of Oz is one because
Because, because, because, because, because
Because of the wonderful things he does
We're off to see the Wizard
The wonderful Wizard of Oz

We're off to see the Wizard
The wonderful Wizard of Oz
We hear he is a whiz of a wiz
If ever a wiz there was
If ever, oh, ever a wiz there was

The Wizard of Oz is one because
Because, because, because, because, because
Because of the wonderful things he does
We're off to see the Wizard
The wonderful Wizard of Oz

Fun Fact: The Ruby Slippers became iconic thanks to the film.

However, in the original book, those were Silver Shoes.

Nicholas Scales

The Wiz in 1978 gave Dorothy back the Silver Slippers

Yes, and in the book it’s not called “the yellow brick road” but “the road of yellow brick” and in the book there is no “there’s no place like home” line and in the book the lion is a real lion walking on four legs and in the book the sense is it was not a dream in the end but Dorothy did in fact get taken up in the house by the cyclone and go physically to Oz and at the end she ends up in the corn field across from her farm and her Aunt Em cries out to her when she sees her asking her where she has been. But Toto in the film looks just like the original W. W. Denslow illustrations along with other characters such as the Tin Man (called the Tin Woodman in the book; or the Woodman) and the Scarecrow, etc.

proud to be called Ruby after this film

Timeless classic!!

If you watch at 2:11 lower right corner of screen you will see the shadow of a boom camera following Dorothy down the yellow brick road.

Still way ahead of it’s time for 1939.

One of my all-time favorites. The "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" scene is my favorite part of the movie. The Munchins were all in unison with their movements and dancing. I can watch this a billion times and never get tired of it

Vlad Sicoe

Forget The Sound of Music, this is the best movie musical ever!

Manuel Orozco

I like them both equally
