In the Valley
Judy Garland Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When white clouds go sailin'
To make my wedding gown,
Then we'll go trailin'
To the valley where the evening sun goes down.

And hidden away in the gloamin'
When leaves are turning brown,
We'll end our roaming
In the valley where the evening sun goes down.

We'll build a home in our valley there,
And watch it grow into a town
And you can sit in your rockin' chair

And watch the evening sun go down,
The evening sun go down.

What a performer Judy was. She also looked just breathtaking in the Harvey Girls and her voice was at it's peak. LOVE her always!

incomparable Judy will live on forever!

Really loved Judy , and especially when she would sing a number without using her “full throttle “ power (which she had) and coming in for a slightly softer approach .
It really showcases the beauty of her voice when she toned it down as in here ... or as in the number “Friendly Star” from the movie Summer Stock.

It really made you prick up your ears and take notice of the actual beauty of her voice .

I can't think of another scene in movies in which Judy (or any other actress, for that matter) is more ravishingly beautiful.

The greatest voice ever!

Craig Slivka

isn't it amazing that Judy had sung so many songs with chord jumps that seem to build in dynamic energy before she vocally leaps to her musical destination both vocally and lyrically.
