After appearing in Vaudeville theater with her sisters, Judy was signed to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as a teenager. There she made more than two dozen films, including nine with Mickey Rooney, and the film with which she would be most identified, "The Wizard of Oz" (1939). After 15 years, Judy was released from the studio but gained renewed success through record-breaking concert appearances, including a critically acclaimed Carnegie Hall concert, a well-regarded but short-lived television series, and a return to film acting beginning with "A Star Is Born" (1954).
Despite her professional triumphs, Judy battled personal problems throughout her life. Insecure about her appearance, her feelings were compounded by film executives who told her she was unattractive and overweight. Plied with drugs to control her weight and increase her productivity, Garland endured a decades-long struggle with addiction. Garland was plagued by financial instability, often owing hundreds of thousands of dollars in back taxes, and her first four of five marriages ended in divorce. She attempted suicide on a number of occasions. Garland died of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 47, leaving children Liza Minnelli, Lorna Luft, and Joey Luft.
Legacy
Judy Garland's legacy as a performer and a personality has endured long after her death. The American Film Institute named Garland eighth among the "Greatest Female Stars of All Time". She has been the subject of over two dozen biographies since her death, including the well-received "Me and My Shadows: A Family Memoir" by her daughter, Lorna Luft. Luft's memoir was later adapted into the multiple award-winning television mini-series, "Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows", which won Emmy Awards for two actresses portraying Garland (Tammy Blanchard and Judy Davis).
Garland was posthumously awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. Several of her recordings have been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. These include "Over the Rainbow," which was ranked as the number one movie song of all time in the American Film Institute's "100 Years...100 Songs" list. Four more Garland songs are featured on the list: "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" (#76), "Get Happy" (#61), "The Trolley Song" (#26), and "The Man That Got Away" (#11).
Judy Garland has twice been honored on U.S. postage stamps, in 1989 (as Dorothy) and again in 2006 (as Vicki Lester from A Star Is Born).
Singin' In The Rain
Judy Garland Lyrics

What a glorious feeling I'm happy again
I'm laughing at clouds so dark above
The sun's in my heart and I'm ready for love
Let the stormy clouds chase everyone from the place
Come on with the rain, I've a smile on my face
I'll walk down the lane with a happy refrain
And singin' just singin' in the rain
Why am I smilin' and why do I sing?
Why does December seem sunny as Spring?
Why do I get up each morning to start happy
And get up with joy in my heart?
Why is each new task a trifle to do?
Because I am living a life full of you
I'm singin' in the rain, just singin' in the rain
What a glorious feeling I'm happy again
I'm laughing at clouds so dark above
The sun's in my heart and I'm ready for love
Let the stormy clouds chase everyone from the place
Come on with the rain, I've a smile on my face
I'll walk down the lane with a happy refrain
And singin' just singin' in the rain
Judy Garland's song Singin' in the Rain is a classic tune that was written by Arthur Freed, with lyrics by Nacio Herb Brown. The song expresses the feeling of pure happiness that comes with being in love, and it is a tribute to the power of positive thinking.
The first paragraph describes the feeling of pure bliss that comes with being in love. The singer is so happy that she is laughing at dark clouds and ready to share her joy with the world. She invites the rain to come and wash away any obstacles in her path, confident that she can handle whatever comes her way.
The second paragraph explores the reasons for the singer's happiness. She wakes up each morning grateful for her loved one and excited to tackle whatever the day brings. She finds pleasure in even the most mundane tasks because she is living a life full of love. Ultimately, the song is a celebration of the power of positive thinking and the transformative effects of love.

I would have liked to hear Gene Kelly and Judy Garland sing this as a duo.

@Naty forero actually they starred in 3 movies together and were co-stars in another film.🤔 They were to also star together in. "Easter parade" but during the start Gene Kelly broke an ankle and Fred Astaire replaced him.

The most interesting thing about this video is Judy's hair colour. The quality of the video is not bad, although a little imperfect, and it is difficult to know how accurate the hues are, but her hair does occasionally show the reddish tint that I believe was her natural shade, at least when younger. Whether it is right to describe her as a redhead I'm not sure, though I kinda like that idea.

omggg now i get it why Debbie Reynolds didn't get a nomination for a OSCAR !!!!!
Naty forero
Because wasnt an original song? And also because debbie's voice in gene's movie was truly the voice of jean hagen the actress of lina because the producer said that Debbie had a diferent accent that didnt fit the song so jean hagen had to sing all her parts instead of the one and only Debbie reynolds
