Santana began writing rhymes at the age of 12. He was originally signed to Priority Records as one half a duo called Draft Pick. The group had several shows around New York City while together, including Amateur Night at the Apollo Theatre, where they won two weeks in a row. Some time after this, he was introduced to Cam'ron through a cousin; in 1998, he became a member of the group, The Diplomats, whose members include Cam'ron, Jim Jones, 40 Cal, J.R Writer, Hell Rell, Jha Jha, S.A.S, and Freekey Zeekey. He is now signed as a solo artist to Dipset but unlike the rest of The Diplomats, who are signed to Koch Records, Santana is currently signed to Def Jam.
He was voted #2 in the VIBE Vixen top 50 sexiest rappers behind T.I. at #1.
His first album, From Me To You was released by Roc-A-Fella Records in 2003 featuring the singles "Dipset (Santana's Town)" and "Down". It was considered a commerical failure when compared to the sucess of Cam'ron's Come Home With Me and The Diplomats' Diplomatic Immunity.
In his latest work, his second album, What The Game's Been Missing!, features the singles "There It Go! (The Whistle Song)", and "Oh Yes" as he continues his unique flow. He was featured in Chris Brown's #1 hit "Run It!" and in the remix of Mariah Carey's # 1 single "Don't Forget About Us". Santana also had the summer hit "Mic Check" which also is on "What The Game's Been Missing!"
Juelz is best known for his ability to flow without any specific rhyme scheme.

God will never put you in a situation that you can't handle
But you can definitley put ya self in a siyuation you can't handle
And some situations end in death
And death is a mothafucka ya dig
[Juelz]
Old timer want the block back, stop that
Lord knows, what's goin through this young niggaz head
As the old timer stood and grilled him
Pissed off, shorty looked at his man
Touched his burner like I shoulda killed him
Shorty in deep, but hew don't care
But he don't know, these old timers don't play fair
There he go, postin on his strip again
Toast on him, niggaz wit 'em, posted on his shit again
(Uh-Oh) He actin like it can't and it won't happen
Old timer bout to blow dust off that old cabinet
(Thats, that's,Thats) Where dem guns is kept
These young niggaz better show some respect (respect)
I'll Teach 'em a lesson, he said to his self
As he proceeded to pull the lead from his shelf
Now he headed towards shorty block, forty cocked
On his zip, on his shit, like he don't care who shorty wit
But somebody saw him, before he go to shorty
Shorty phone ring, somebody called him
Somebody warned him, he's comin he's comin
Shorty replied, somebody stall him
Then he crept up wit his goons and guns
Whispered in to old timers ear, death is soon to come
[Chorus]
They say hell is hot,but is heaven cold
Know one ever knows til you Gone, gone, gone
And when you gone does ya soul drift off to a better place
Or do you jus float up and fade
Away, away, away, away, like a bird when its headed towards the sky (huh, huh)
Or do you just die (huh huh)
Or do you just perish from the earth and its over
[Juelz]

[Chorus]
[Juelz]
And um, I say that to say this, alotta people don't appreciate life til their gone
I mean, alotta situations can be avoided, you just gotta avoid it ya dig
Jus don't be one of them people I'm talkin bout, ya know....
The lyrics to Juelz Santana's song "Gone" are a reflection on the fragility of life and how individuals often make choices that lead to their own downfall. The first verse reminds us that God will never give us a challenge we cannot handle, but we can put ourselves in situations beyond our control. While death can be an unfortunate end to poor decisions, the chorus questions what happens after we die. Does our soul drift away to a better place or is it over after we take our last breath? The second verse tells the story of a young woman who is unaware of her boyfriend's criminal lifestyle until she is kidnapped and held for ransom. He chooses not to pay because he has a family at home, and she is beaten and left for dead.
Juelz Santana's lyrics showcase the consequences of poor decision-making in life, and it is a warning to people to be more mindful of their actions. People often take the lives that they live for granted and do not realize the impact that their choices can have until it is too late. This song is a reminder that every decision has a consequence, and we should try our best to make the right choices. It serves as a cautionary tale to young people who may be surrounding themselves with negativity and engaging in dangerous behavior.
