Julie Andrews got her big break when her stepfather introduced her to Val Parnell, whose Moss Empires controlled prominent venues in London. Andrews made her professional solo debut at the London Hippodrome singing the difficult aria "Je Suis Titania" from Mignon as part of a musical revue called "Starlight Roof" on 22 October 1947.
Andrews gained fame at a young age in 1950s Britain by acting and singing on light entertainment radio programmes such as "Educating Archie". She rose to international prominence after starring in Broadway musicals such as My Fair Lady and Camelot, as well as musical films like Mary Poppins (1964) and The Sound of Music (1965).
Andrews had a major revival of her film career in the 2000s, in children's films such as The Princess Diaries (2001), its sequel The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004), and the Shrek animated films (2004-2007). In 2005, Andrews made her debut as a stage director with a revival of The Boy Friend, in which she also made her Broadway acting debut in 1954.
She was married with Blake Edwards in 1965 until his death in 2010.
Out Of This World
Julie Andrews Lyrics

When I'm looking at you,
I hear out of this world
The music that no mortal ever knew.
You're right out of a book,
The fairy tale I read when I was so high;
No armored knight out of a book
After waiting so long for the right time,
After reaching so long for a star,
All at once from the long and lonely night time,
And despite time, here you are!
I'd fly out of this world
If you said we were through,
So let me fly out of this world
And spend the next eternity or two with you;
I'll spend the next eternity or two with you.
In 'Out Of This World', Julie Andrews sings about being completely enamored by someone to the point that they seem otherworldly. The lyrics describe how the object of her affection is like a character from a fairytale who has come to life. She hears a kind of music that cannot be replicated by mere mortals when she is in their presence. The song expresses the idea that she has finally found the person she has been searching for and is willing to spend eternity with them.
The lyrics also speak to the idea of waiting for the right person and taking a chance on love despite the fear of being hurt. It suggests that true love is worth the risk and that finding the right person can be a life-changing experience. The final verse expresses the sentiment that the singer is willing to leave the world behind and spend eternity with the one she loves.
Overall, the song is a sweet and romantic tribute to the power of love and the joy that comes with finding the right person.

Suddenly, after a period of solitude and melancholy

It's such a shame we didn't get more Julie albums (and singles) throughout the '60s and '70s, other than soundtracks.
