Do Re Mi
Julie Andrews Charmian Carr Angela Cartwright Duane Chase Nicholas Hammond Karat Heather Menzies Deb Lyrics

Let´s start at the very beginning
A very good place to start
When you read you begin with A-be-see
When you sing you begin with do-re-mi

Do-re-mi, do-re-mi
The first three notes just happen to be
Do-re-mi, do-re-mi

Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti
Let´s see if I can make it easy

Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long, long way to run
Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow Sew
Tea, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do (oh-oh-oh)

Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do
So-do!

Now children, do-re-mi-fa-so and so on
are only the tools we use to build a song
Once you have these notes in your heads
you can sing a million different tunes by mixing them up
Like this

So Do La Fa Mi Do Re

Can you do that?

So Do La Fa Mi Do Re
So Do La Ti Do Re Do
So Do La Ti Do Re Do

Now, put it all together

So Do La Fa Mi Do Re, So Do La Ti Do Re Do

Good!

But it doesn´t mean anything

So we put in words
One word for every note
Like this

When you know the notes to sing
You can sing most anything
Together!

When you know the notes to sing
You can sing most anything

Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long, long way to run
Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow Sew
Tea, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do

Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do
Do Ti La So Fa Mi Re

Do Mi Mi
Mi So So
Re Fa Fa
La Ti Ti

When you know the notes to sing
You can sing most anything

Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long, long way to run
Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow Sew
Tea, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to

Do So Do
Re La Fa
Mi Mi Do
Fa Re
So So Do
La La Fa

Ti La So Fa Mi Re
Ti Do oh oh Ti Do So Do

Overall Meaning

The Do-Re-Mi song is a classic from the movie The Sound of Music and is sung by Julie Andrews with the Von Trapp children. The song is about teaching the basics of music, and it starts off by stating that the very beginning is a very good place to start. It then goes on to explain that when reading, one starts with the alphabet, while in music, it is Do-Re-Mi that one begins with.

Throughout the song, the tune of the notes is explained through fun and easy to remember words. For example, Doe, a deer, a female deer is used to explain the first note; Ray, a drop of golden sun explains the next note and so on. As the song progresses, it becomes more advanced, with more notes being added in, and the children are encouraged to mix up the notes to create different tunes.

The song is a fun way to learn about the basics of music and provides an easy-to-remember foundation for children learning to sing or play an instrument. Additionally, it's a great way to bond with children through music and create an enjoyable learning environment.

I watched that DVD like 5 times. I really love it! The pictures in the scrapbook is amazing and the home videos are really cute! The DVD has no sound, but it's still fun to watch! 👌

I had mine delivered 2 days ago. At first I thought there was something wrong with the DVD as it has no sound. Silly me. But I love the book! I feel like a child opening her gifts on Christmas day! :)

I wasn't aware there were various versions of this new book (I don't think there are, but I could be mistaken). I just received my copy of The Sound of Music Family Scrapbook last week and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The DVD is inserted right on the inside flap. Of course, since this is a compilation of home movies (filmed in 1964), there is no sound, but it was wonderful to watch. The book is filled with wonderful memories from each of the actors and is a delight.

One of my "BEST" movie since watched when I am only 8years old. till now 30)years past and remain my "FAVOURITE" movie of all. I am living in Malaysia. Any idea how to get the scrapbook?

zolochnaya

I odered and received the scrapbook and DVD but was disappointed that the 'movie' was a silent one, and that there was no footage of the children's screen tests. Now, that would have been SOMETHING!
