Bergan has already managed to achieve more than 100 million streams in her career. Doors began opening for real when she released her smash hit ”All hours” October 2015, followed by ”I Kinda Like It”, February 2016. The success continued and she reached an impressive peak later in 2016, when she climbed all the way to the top of the Norwegian charts with the #1 banger ”Arigato”.
Bergan has during 2016 gone both gold and platinum (several times), charmed the Nordic audience with performances on Danish X-factor, as well as Norwegian Idol with Tinie Tempah. In addition she has been touring Europe at sold out venues with hit machine Jess Glynne, supported Justin Bieber on both his shows in Norway and Spain as well as playing a bunch of concerts and festivals with her live band. She also got nominated in the categories 'Song of the Year' with Arigato and 'Best New Artist' for the Norwegian music award, P3 gull. The opponents were some of Norway’s most popular artists. She also did an extraordinary live performance of 'Arigato' during the award show.
Bergan kicks off 2017 with releasing her brand new single “Blackout” on January 13th and with a nomination for “Song of the year” for “Arigato’ at the Norwegian Grammy Awards, Spellemann, a show taking place in Oslo on Jan 28th where she will be performing both songs. With her powerful and diverse voice, combined with a unique and playful stage presence filled with energy, Julie Bergan has managed to put herself at the center of the Norwegian music scene.

Make way for us
Tell me, what's your beef baby?
Why you tryna sleep on me? (Hey, hey)
'Cause I've been on a roll lately
Yeah, I been heating up like a million dollar stove on it
If you don't know you'll know
If you're gonna hit low
Just know you'll pay the price
Nothing else will suffice
It's an eye for an eye
If high's a crime then
We live in the mezzanine
And still you're looking down on me, ah
We're coming up
Make way for us
On top of everything
And you're beneath my energy, ah
We're coming up
Make way for us
We've been getting lit, baby
And you been talking shit lately
You thinking you gon' win the race, huh
You're not even close
Nowhere near second place
You're the amateur, I'm the pro, so
If you don't know you'll know
If you're gonna hit low
Just know you'll pay the price
Nothing else will suffice
It's an eye for an eye
If high's a crime then
We live in the mezzanine
And still you're looking down on me, ah
We're coming up
Make way for us
On top of everything
And you're beneath my energy, ah
We're coming up
Make way for us
We're coming up
Make way for us
(Ah)
Nothing else will suffice
(Ah)
If high's a crime then
We live in the mezzanine
And still you're looking down on me, ah
We're coming up
Make way for us
On top of everything
And you're beneath my energy, ah
We're coming up
Make way for us
(Ah)
We're coming up
Make way for us
(Ah)
We're coming up
Make way for us
In "We're Coming Up," Julie Bergan addresses those who have tried to underestimate her or put her down in the past. She confronts those who have talked behind her back or belittled her achievements and asserts that she is rising to the top and they should make way for her. The chorus proclaims that she and her allies are "coming up" and that those who have tried to bring them down are now beneath their energy.
Throughout the song, Bergan portrays an unwavering confidence and determination to succeed. She has a quick response to any criticism and is unfazed by any obstacles in her way. She uses the metaphor of a "million-dollar stove" to describe the heat and intensity of her success, emphasizing that it's not just luck or chance. Bergan is "getting lit" and proving her worth as a professional in her field.
The chorus repeats the phrase "We live in the mezzanine," referring to the level between the ground floor and the balcony in a theatre or concert hall. It suggests that although they are not at the very top yet, they are rising up and they will soon be on stage, on top of everything.
