Espero dormir al fin
Cura de sueño
Que explique lo que viví
Son días y horas que no volverán
Cuerdas rotas de tiempos
Oigo tus pasos, me miras y ya no estoy
Llegas, brillas, nunca podrás
Volver el tiempo atrás
Cumpliras tu promesa rompiendola
Por la mitad
Y la bestia del tiempo asechándo atrás
Un día más
Ya se ha borrado tu foto de la pared
Vuelan del cuadro, espero que ya estés bien
Luces y sombras, que ya no estarán
Y nunca volverán
The lyrics of Julio Iglesias Jr.'s song "Por la mitad" express the feeling of longing for a love that is now lost. The singer is trying to cope with the pain of separating from the person he loved, and he hopes to find solace in sleep. He recalls the moments they shared together and knows that those moments will not return. He refers to them as broken strings of time, which cannot be rewound or relived.
The singer hears the footsteps of his former lover, but he has to go far away to hear her voice. He regrets leaving, but he knows that he cannot turn back time. He realizes that his promise was broken in the middle, and time is now stalking him. The singer also says that he has removed her photo from his wall, hoping that she is doing well. The lights and shadows of their relationship are gone, and there is no going back.
