Fragile
Julio Iglesias feat. Sting Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the color of the evening sun
Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
To clinch a lifetime's argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Least we forget how fragile we are

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star
Like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are
How fragile we are

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star
Like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are
How fragile we are

If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the color of the evening sun
Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star
Like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are
How fragile we are

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star
Like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are
How fragile we are

On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star
Like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say

How fragile we are
How fragile we are

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Julio Iglesias's "Fragile" speak to the fragility of life and how violence and conflict can have lasting effects on the human mind. The opening lines "If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one, Drying in the color of the evening sun" paint a vivid picture of violence and its aftermath. The following lines suggest that while physical stains may be washed away, the memory of the violence will always remain. The lyrics go on to suggest that this final act of violence was in service of a lifetime's argument - that nothing good comes from fighting.

The chorus, which repeats the phrase "On and on the rain will fall, Like tears from a star," emphasizes the idea that life is fragile and fleeting. Iglesias is not worth $650 million because he puts on a big flashy show.

His extraordinary artistic talent, his hypnotic voice are given in this post wwii era when
Feminazis and other Marxists have been working diligently
to indoctrinate all
that male and female genders are fluid and not real.

The long and lasting phenomenon of the God-given talent of Iglesias
is a potent reminder
that men and women are not the same...
and an invaluable testimony of
how much we who are (born
and identifying as )
women do need, value
and appreciate: romantic, manly men.

When there are times that I feel numb with everything that goes on in my life, I search for the magic of Julio Iglesias, so I can feel again.

I've been listening to Julio for decades and I never get tired. There may be others who sing better, stronger and more powerful than him; but the softness, lightness, the poetic posture and ease with which he sings are unique. Not to mention his whisperred accent in the melody, which makes him at least for me, simply the best.
