"I Should Care" is a classic song originally sung by Linda Darnell in the 1944 movie, "Thrill of a Romance." The lyrics convey a sense of indifference towards someone who has caused heartbreak but acknowledges the feelings that still exist. The song tells the story of someone who "should" be upset and unable to sleep, but surprisingly, the singer sleeps well. However, that peace is interrupted by a dream or two, but the singer is able to use the calming power of counting sheep to fall back to sleep. I was assigned to Camp Drake (Asakamachi, Saitamaken) from '55 to '58. I don't know what your experiences were, but those days were happy days for me...outside the Army, of course..
