High Come Down
Junior Boys Lyrics

But I, I think I've seen you in my head
You're not alone at all, the song traced you always
And I watched
Take this whole damn crowd out there waiting
But I gotta too, empty
But you look so traced
The lyrics to Junior Boys's song High Come Down paint a vivid picture of a surreal encounter between two people. The singer lets the listener know that he has seen this person numerous times in his head, which may seem strange to some. The song seamlessly blends reality and fantasy as the singer talks about how the person is not alone, and the song always traced her. It is unclear what the significance of the song is, but it is clear that it is important to the singer. The singer goes on to say that he watched this person, which adds an element of voyeurism to the lyrics.
As the song progresses, it becomes apparent that the setting is a crowded venue, perhaps a club or bar, where the singer is waiting for this person. He acknowledges the crowd and how they might be waiting for something to happen, but he is empty without this person there. He tells the person that they look "traced," which may signify that they are under the influence of a drug, which might be why they are seeing things that are not there. Even though the plot of the song is ambiguous, the overall message is clear; the singer is asking the person to trust him, and he will take care of them.
