He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised in Arkansas. Wells moved to Chicago in 1948 and first made his mark at age 18 playing in Muddy Waters' band. He later worked with Buddy Guy in the 1960s and recorded for Delmark Records. His most memorable songs are "Messin' With the Kid" and "Little by Little," and his best-known album, 1965's Hoodoo Man Blues, which evokes the smoky atmosphere of the era's Westside Chicago blues bars.
Wells made an appearance in the 1998 movie Blues Brothers 2000, the sequel to The Blues Brothers. The movie was released less than a month after his death.
On his passing in 1998, Junior Wells was interred in the Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago.
Come on in This House

Standin' there cryin'
Cause you know your cryin' won't
Ease your mind
And I'm beggin' you
I'm beggin' you
To come on in this house
And when you're here
I'll love you
Oh yea yea yea
I love you so
And if I had a million dollars
I'd give you every dime
Just to hear you call me daddy
One more time
And I'm beggin' you
I'm beggin' you
To come on in this house
Yea this ol' house
And when you're here
I'll love you
Oh yea yea yea
I love you so
Now come back baby
Cuz I'm to blame
I got a woman
You got yourself a man
And I'm beggin' you
I'm beggin' you
To come on in this house
Yea this ol' house
And when you're here
I'll love you
Oh yea yea yea
I love you so
The lyrics of Junior Wells's song Come On in This House are a plea to a former lover to return to the singer's house. The opening lines suggest that the former lover is crying and upset, but the singer tells them that their tears won't ease their mind. The singer then begs the former lover to come back to the house, expressing their love and desire for the former lover's presence.
The lyrics take on a more poignant tone as the singer admits that they are to blame for the breakup and that the former lover has moved on with someone else. Despite this, the singer still holds deep feelings of love for the former lover and offers to give them every penny they have if it means they will return to the house and call the singer "daddy" one more time.
The emotional depth of the lyrics is underscored by the bluesy melody and Junior Wells's vocals, which convey both the singer's desperation and vulnerability. Ultimately, the song is a haunting portrayal of love lost and the desire to regain it, even when it seems impossible.

One of those recordings where the rawness only makes it better. I feel if this was remastered it would lose a lot of it's charm. Brilliant track
