In collaboration with people like Leif Edling (Candlemass, Krux) Mats Levén (Krux, ex Therion, Y. Malmsteen) and Declan Burke (Darwins radio, Frost) among many others, He gives us an album with the ambient but symphonic production known from Carptree and with a clear presence of Heavier elements . Big arrangements, small details, different vocalists and musicians specially chosen for each song makes it divers and intriguing. You are given one hour of music and exclusive artwork, once again by the independent Label FOSFOR Creation
Now in 2009, Jupiter Society releases the sequel called "Terraform" again with a lot of prominent fellow musicians like the last time, slightly different crew this time with Kulle and Marcus Jidell (Royal Hunt) on lead guitars, and Lars Sköld (Tiamat) on Drums and also Christer Jansson (Roxette among many others) on additional Drums. Mats Levén (krux, ex Therion, ex Y.Malmsteen and others) and Leif Edling (Candlemass, Krux) are still members of the society among others.

Defeat
Jupiter Society Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Nowhere to hide
Nowhere to run
Surrender
Nowhere to hide
Nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide
Nowhere to run
Surrender
Nowhere to hide
Nowhere to run
Today we run, we hide
and hope for mercy
Stay away from dreaming
Stay away from faith
Defeat, extinction
No compassion
No mercy
No compassion
No sympathy
From now and on
time will not pass
All seasons’ end
will come today
No more winter
No more rain
For ages, everything’s
in vain
Your only wish
was to survive
This world was not
within your dream
From now and on
time will not pass
All seasons’ end
will come today
For ages, everything’s
in vain.
Your wish is to survive
Survive within your dream
No more winter
No more rain
For ages, everything’s
in vain
* * * *
No exploitation
No colonization
Pure destruction
No negotiation
This is ours
This belongs to us
No discrimination
There is no salvation
Peace is not an option
Today you die
What will be left
of this world?
What will be left
when everything
has gone away?
Now our only choice
is dead or left alone
The lyrics of Jupiter Society's "Defeat" seem to paint a bleak picture of a world overrun and destroyed by humans, and there is no hope for redemption or salvation. The repeated use of the word "surrender" emphasizes that the end has come, and there is no escape. The lines "Today we run, we hide and hope for mercy, stay away from dreaming, stay away from faith" could be seen as the last desperate attempt of humanity to avoid the inevitable, to find some sort of solace or divine intervention in the face of utter destruction. However, as the rest of the lyrics suggest, there is no mercy, no compassion, no hope. The lines "No exploitation, no colonization, pure destruction, no negotiation, this is ours, this belongs to us" indicate that whoever or whatever has brought about this apocalypse is not interested in sharing or co-existing with humanity. The lines "What will be left of this world? What will be left when everything has gone away? Now our only choice is dead or left alone" suggest that humanity has finally been stripped of everything, even its dignity and identity, and is faced with a final, solitary, and meaningless existence.
It is not clear what the inspiration for the song was, but thematically, it bears resemblance to other post-apocalyptic works of fiction that explore similar themes of isolation, survival, and the end of the world. It could be seen as a comment on the state of the planet, the cyclical nature of destruction and rebirth, or as a warning about the consequences of our actions. The use of repetition in the song, particularly the refrain "Surrender, nowhere to hide, nowhere to run" adds to the sense of inevitability and the relentlessness of fate.
