Is it Worth It
Justice Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
He's telling me I've got to beware

cnd I think it's time to stop children
What's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down

Battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
cre getting so much resistance from behind

It's time to stop children, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
Hey what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down

What a field day for the heat
c thousand people in the streets
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly saying hooray for our side

It's time to stop, children, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
Hey what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
Ooh...

Paranoia strikes deep
Into your lives it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
Step out of line and the man come and take you away

It's time to stop, children, what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
Hey what's that sound?
Everybody look what's going down
Ooh...
Everybody look what's going down, down, down, down
Everybody look what's going down

What's going down, down, down, down
What's going down, down

What's going down, down, down, down, down
What's going down...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Justice's song "Is it Worth It" convey a sense of social unrest and political tension. The opening lines suggest that there is something happening, but it's not entirely clear what it is. The mention of a man with a gun implies a threat or danger, and the singer feels the need to be cautious.

The chorus, "It's time to stop children, what's that sound? Everybody look what's going down," emphasizes the need for attention and action. The phrase "stop children" may refer to the need for society to address these issues and not turn a blind eye. The repetition of "what's that sound?" suggests an ongoing disturbance or disturbance that should be investigated further.

The following verse speaks of battle lines being drawn and the idea that nobody is right if everyone is wrong. This reflects the division and polarization in society, where differing opinions lead to resistance and conflict. The mention of young people speaking their minds highlights the struggle they face when met with opposition from older generations.

The line "What a field day for the heat, a thousand people in the streets" describes a large gathering or protest, where people are united in their cause. They sing songs and carry signs, expressing their support or celebration for their side. This indicates a form of resistance against the status quo.

In the final verse, the lyrics touch on the theme of paranoia and the fear that comes with stepping out of line. The "man" symbolizes the oppressive forces or authorities that seek to suppress dissent or nonconformity. It suggests a society where individuals are constantly afraid and at risk of being punished for deviating from the norm.

Overall, "Is it Worth It" by Justice shines a light on the importance of paying attention to social issues and taking a stand. It prompts us to question the current state of affairs and consider the consequences of our actions or inactions.

UniverseNeed to Fall

I like the idea behind this type of videos, and these words, but...
What when it is this exact same "justice" that DESTROYS your life ? What do I do when my friends lose some fingers because a policeman obeys the government that obeys this EXACT same JUSTICE that said "Yes, policemen are now allowed to use grenades when they FEEL threatened" ?
What do I do when this justice serves ALWAYS the same people ?
Because, quite frankly, I am not only TIRED, but also ANGRY against it.
My whole life is an injustice. And when you try to fight back as a victim, this same justice will say "Why are you angry ? do you have Something to hide ?", even when what you want to say is true, money will win. Do you know why some régions never knows "peace" ?
Because MONEY.
MONEY will help buid factories that will help give people Something to think about. Why would I care about politics ? I need to feed myself and go to this factory to build weapons and earn money !
Then these weapons are sold to another country, and they are given to the army, and they would say "Why would I think ? I need to train if I dont want to die on the battlefield !"
Then this country will begin a war, and people will be afraid, and try to run to another country because of the war, like in western society, France, america, UK, etc...
And these countries will tell Something along the lines of "accept refugees !" without helping them to adapt to their customs, making them feel hated, some will get mad, and governments will change their speeches to "refugees are frightening ! fear them ! they kill people and bring terrorism with them !"
and the western society people will fear refugees, then stop thinking, because "Why would I care about homeless people ? About autistic people ? LGBT ? what's this shit ? The only problem I see is muslims !"
And there you have it. Our whole world is based on injustice.

No... We already have it the world has already been changed by it. The lack of it is the only foreseeable change.

it still answers the question, it simply takes on the perspective that it's a different state of mind that is required to truly pursue justice (and makes it possible to see why it IS "worth it"); and it states that if you are asking the question, then you probably don't have the right state of mind. It's not about *who* asked the question, it's about the *mentality* of the person who asked the question. And is therefore not really ad hominem.
