But my heart's of gold
I had to run away high
So I wouldn't come home low
Just when things went right
Doesn't mean they were always wrong
Just take this song, and you'll never feel
Left all alone
Take me to your heart
Feel me in your bones
Just one more night
And I'm comin' off this
Long and winding road
I'm on my way (I'm on my way)
I'm on my way (I'm on my way)
Home sweet home
Tonight, tonight
I'm on my way (I'm on my way)
I'm on my way (I'm on my way)
Home sweet home
You know that I've seen
Too many romantic dreams
Up in lights, fallin' off
The silver screen
My heart's like an open book
For the whole world to read (world to read)
Sometimes nothing
Keeps me together
At the seams
I'm on my way (I'm on my way)
I'm on my way (I'm on my way)
Home sweet home
Tonight, tonight
I'm on my way (I'm on my way)
Just set me free (Just set me free)
Home sweet home
Home sweet home
Home sweet home
Yeah, I'm on my way (I'm on my way)
I'm on my way (I'm on my way)
Home sweet home
Yeah!
I'm on my way (I'm on my way)
Just set me free (Just set me free)
Home sweet home
The lyrics to "Home Sweet Home" by Justin Moore express his feelings about returning home after a long journey. Moore explains that even though he is a dreamer, his heart is always in the right place. He left home with a high spirit so that he would not come home low, and just because things went right doesn't mean that they were always wrong. He encourages his listeners to take this song and never feel left alone. The chorus describes how he wants to be held and felt by someone, and he is almost home now. The second verse talks about how his heart is an open book for the world to read but it seems like nothing can keep him together at the seams. Still, he is coming home to his sweet home and he wants everyone to set him free.
The song is a reflection of the common experience of how people make big decisions in their lives such as leaving home for a new job, going to college, or traveling, but always returning home eventually. Justin Moore's message is one of hope and acceptance that no matter how far you go, there is always a place you can call home.

In 1985 as a beaten down 15 year old I set myself free, seeking to find my way in life with hopes of making a better home for myself.
"You know I'm a dreamer,
But my heart's of gold,
I had to run away high,
So I wouldn't come home low".
Same year this song was released becoming a mental cheering on to carry forward on the road I HiT and the tune HiT MaSS sound waves. 35 years later with home found it's been a long and winding road but thanks to the Motliest of Crue's this song still cheers this grown kid on for peace of mind.
"My hearts like an open book for the whole world to read,
Sometimes nothing keeps me together at the seams".
