The band released its self-titled debut album on October 29, 2002. The album included several collaborations with Michelle Branch, who promoted it on MTV's Total Request Live. After their first music video was shown on the network, Wal-Mart agreed to sponsor a short tour to further promote the album. The band played several solo shows, and also opened for Nick Carter on his Backstreet Boy tour. Billboard Magazine writer David Menconi called justincase "an act to watch," and guitar-maker Ibanez published a series of ads featuring the band.
Despite heavy promotion, though, the album lagged commercially. Lackluster sales numbers caused Maverick to drop the band, and they have been unable to secure another recording contract. The band is on a self-described "indefinite hiatus" while its members attend college and play the occasional local show. Lead singer Justin Tosco is also performing with Policy, another local band.
What I Wouldn't Do
Justincase Lyrics

And start your step again before you fall down now
Bear the load until you can bear down on the loaded
Sling your rock and hit the love that you've been missing
Chorus:
What I, what I, what I wouldn't do
To wipe all that pain away
To walk the road you've walked along
If you looked here
Would it be too much to ask
If you looked where you have been glancing past
All those boys who
Have been here for you
What I, what I, what I wouldn't do
Peel the layers and take your test this moment
Hold your head high and stare down all the twisted
Chorus
Even though you're used to leaving things
I just want to be the last one gone
If you looked here
Would it be too much to ask
If you looked where you have been glancing past
All those boys who
Have been here for you
What I wouldn't do
For you
The opening verse in Justincase's song What I Wouldn't Do urges the recipient of the message to take a step back from their problems, wipe away the residue of whatever it is that is causing them grief, and take the weight of the world onto their shoulders. The next line asks that they bear the weight, hold that load in their arms, and use it to hurl a rock at the love they are missing. Essentially, the lyrics are telling the subject of the song to look at their issues, take them on, and attack their problems head-on.
The chorus begins with "What I, what I, what I wouldn't do, to wipe all that pain away," which is a clear indication that the singer is dedicated to helping the person they are singing to through their struggle. The chorus continues to offer support, with the lyrics "to walk the road you've walked along." The following lines express concern about the subject's obliviousness to the people around them who want to help them but have been looked over. The song ends with the singer's affinity for the subject, expressing their desire to be the last one to leave when everyone is gone.
Justincase's song What I Wouldn't Do is a heartwarming tune with a message that many people can relate to. The song gained immense fame when it was featured in the film A Cinderella Story.
